Beta Theta Pi at UVa

Okay, this is the story...My pledge son's little brother is heading to UVA next year, and of course is now interested in joining a fraternity. Naturally his first interest lies in becoming apart of the same organization as his older brother.

For the sake of background information that I can pass on to him, if you know anything about the Greek system at UVa please either post here or PM me. Good or Bad I don't really care, so whatever you got let me know!

ETA: I've already checked out their chapter website and their Alumni site as well, so I don't need any of that sort of information.

I don't think there are many UVA people on here... I know there is an Iota Phi Theta from the area...

I'm no expert on UVA, but it seems like a pretty chill system. Greek life there is strong on campus because several groups were founded there... It's not an overwhelmingly Greek campus, however... I'd say in terms of Greek life it's not like your SEC schools, but it's definately still a strong system. That's about all I know, really. I've been to fraternity parties there a few times.

I could probably find out about Beta there if no one else knows.

I have several high school friends at UVA, but not one of them went Greek. I'll try to ask them to see what they say about it.

Whoops, I hadn't been on in awhile, but I am glad I saw this. Thanks breathesgelatin for remembering me.

As for the information you've requested BetaRulz!

http://www.virginia.edu/ofsl/ (website of the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Life @ UVA).

Hope this helps. It gives good background info on the greek system and has links to the IFC, ISC, BFC (NPHC), and MGC groups on grounds. Good luck to your pledge son's little brother. I hope he enjoys the experience at UVA.
