Sweetheart Help!

So I'm applying to be the sweetheart of a chapter on our campus. I'm great friends with every member and feel that I have a good chance at winning, but one of the guys girlfriends (non-greek) is also applying. She pretty much lives at the house and makes them something new daily! Cakes, Dinner, Etc. I need advice and ideas! What do men like from their sweetheart?

This may not be true for every organization, but we typically shy away from taking someone as a sweetheart if they are dating a member because that person is less likely to come around after the break up.

I'm so unfamiliar with this application/winning concept when it comes to being sweetheart. I tend to liken being a sweetheart to AI... it shouldn't be something you seek, it should be something you surprisingly get just because of who you are and what you (selflessly) do for the chapter.

Here is another sweetheart thread from not too long ago...

And my chapter also frowns upon choosing a member's significant other as a sweetheart (because of the reason stc2005 stated.. if they break up, things could get complicated), but I know other chapters that welcome it. So it all depends.

Once in a while I'll see girls campaigning on Facebook for the title of Sweetheart.

WTF? You don't freaking campaign to be Sweetheart! Like ASTAlumna said, it's not something you seek. You shouldn't have to solicit votes for it, either.
