FYI: Contact Lens wearers

You should change your lens containers once a month? Did you all know that, I didn't? I have had the same container for the last couple of years.

The report where I heard this also said that the solutions should be changed once a year.

FYI

I'm a contact lens wearer since 1984, and I don't change my cases every month, either. My cases get changed if Bausch and Lomb has a special "free case" offer with products, or when I go to my eye doctor.

As for solutions, I always use ReNu by Bausch and Lomb, but I do alternate between the regular multi-purpose solutions and the deluxe versions like No Rub.

I did know about changes the lens case once a month, but I just learned about it last January-01 when I went to a different eye doctor to get my eyes checked.

Prior to this I didn't know anything about changing the case once a month. Now I do change the solution that I use. I go between Alcon Opti-Free and Bausch & Lomb ReNu.

thanks...i didn't know that either but ive been thinking of trying focus dailies which would eliminate the need for solution and contact lense cases. i found them for $48 per box (3 months). Luckily for me, my perscription is the same in both eyes so i can get away w/ buying only one box vs. two and it would last me 45 days Has anyone here ever tried the daily lenses?

I have never tried the daily lenses, but I do wear disposable lenses and it is great. I really don't have to clean them like you would the extended use lenses. Just a dab of solution in the morning and a quick 10 second rub is all it takes. At the begining of every month, I just toss them in the trash and open a new box. It is actually pretty convenient.
