My Kiwanis Club does a lot on the 4th with the local city festival. We have a bike decorating clinic for kids who want to ride their bikes in the parade, then we have the parade and throw candy to kids during that. Then we are having a cute pet contest fundraiser at the carnival. There are amusement rides and junk food, a craft show, a beer tent and live music all day. We have a booth where people submit pics of their pet. We have a donation jar for each pet and the one that has the most money in the jar at the end of the day wins. The money goes to our service projects.

Then they have fireworks. It's TKEGuy's turn to come here this weekend and I'm hoping he'll come out before the fireworks. My friend lives near where they shoot them off so we watch them from her house.

I think you’ll get a second interview for sure, Dee! Fingers crossed.

Your holiday sounds like SO much fun! I like how you and TKEGuy take turns visiting, lol. You guys sound like you’ve got everything mapped out on the visits.

WIFLSRN: Surgery day was a breeze today. I just had a line up of spays, neuters, and a quick mass removal, so I got to leave early. Rewarded myself with a Barnes & Noble run. Closed for the holiday. Win-win!

So…. I’m at the bookstore comparing black hole books. I’m going to buy another one because I want to compare it to the most recent one I purchased.

So, I’ve been thinking, imagine a black hole not as this little cosmic vacuum cleaner, but as kind of like a gateway. I mean we all know that when a star collapses into a black hole, all its mass and energy get crushed into a singularity, a point of infinite density, right? But that’s just what we see from the outside. What if, on the inside, that singularity actually blossoms out into an entire new region of spacetime?

Think about it, when you cross an event horizon, you can’t come back out, we all know that. It’s a one way barrier. That’s basically the same idea as our observable universe. So the Big Bang is like the flip side of a black hole, like a singularity that explodes outward instead of pulling inward.

So I’m thinking that maybe our entire universe is the inside of some enormous black hole embedded in a parent universe. And then, every black hole in our universe could like spawn its own baby universes inside. Kind of like cosmic Russian nesting dolls, like each inside is its own separate reality with its own spacetime.

I mean, is there proof? No. Can we measure it? Not yet. But I ran the math myself, well, the simplified version, and general relativity actually holds up if you bend it this way. It’s like you get solutions where black holes could have white hole interiors that look a lot like expanding universes. And then I’ve seen where some astrophysicists come up with similar theories which made me really think about it.

Anyway, good luck trying to get a telescope big enough to peek outside our cosmic bubble. I’ll stick to my coffee and trust the equations to keep me humble.

Man, church will teach you real quick that having a title doesn’t mean you’ve got integrity. Don’t get fooled by appearances. Just because someone stands at a pulpit or calls themselves Pastor, Prophet, Bishop, it doesn’t really mean anything if their character doesn’t back it up. My dad’s old pastor had three women pregnant all at once, and one of those women was his wife. I thought it was two, it was three. When they got ready to get rid of him, he said “I don’t know what the problem is, I’m taking care of them.”

So I guess technically he believed in family values… just in bulk. 😂

But here’s what I’ve learned, people will disappoint you every single time when you expect them to stand where only God does. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” (Proverbs 3:5)

Humans will fail you. God won’t. Keep your eyes in the right place, and you won’t be shocked when the pastor’s living a soap opera. Laugh, learn, and move on.

That’s why I trust God fully, and why I trust people accordingly — full trust in God, and conditional, earned, reality-based trust in people. Pretty simple.
