Thanks for posting the schedule. I've always loved and admired Solidad so I'm interested in watching her take on this.

So...
Did anyone watch last night? I missed it. What were your impressions?

My prophyte was on the show--Karima Powers, the single special education teacher who went on the blind date.

I thought that the show was nothing new to what we already knew. I was a bit disappointed because it seemed to just be snippets about Black women and the rest was consumed with an assortment of other issues. Furthermore, I was looking for more for ideas on solutions to the problems or at least more action steps. Maybe for budget constraints they were unable to do separate segments on Black women, children and men.

True and this is about what people expected to get from the series.
No one I know expected anything groundbreaking in the way of information or policy implications and ideas. Many of us discuss and work or volunteer for these causes everyday so we weren't expecting much from a CNN series. It's a good dialogue tool, and beginner's learning tool for those who were clueless, and that's about it.

I think it was to show those who don't know, or who don't care to know the struggles that blacks still face. Those of us who see it everday could have probably done the documentary; especially the GC social workers! Much respect to you guys!

A little disheartened with the content of the program, but I did watch as I prepare my own filmed documentary. Many thanks.
