I heard today that U2 has broken up due to Bono's trying to save the world antics.

I know, in at least a couple of interviews, Bono had talked about how his other interests has interfered with the band, and had upset his fellow band members. I haven't heard anything about a break-up, but apparently there were issues.

It's Latin. Have you ever heard the story about Bono and Sonny Bono in an elevator? Sonny Bono looks at Bono and says it's pronounced BOE NOE.

Anyway I love Bono and U2. I hope that they didn't break up.

I second the motion. The only thing from them I've ever liked was "Hold me, Thrill me, Kiss me, Kill me" "Vertigo" was about him showing off that he was Irish and therefore Catholic and so he translated One, Two, Three, Fourteen --which is the worst front-man joke ever-- into Italian b/c the Pope lives in Italy. I think that song is about the Pope living in Italy, looking out from the Pope balcony and then getting dizzy because he is acrophobic I guess.

Um, no, he was speaking Spanish. Same with when he says "Hola" and "Donde estas" in other parts of the song.

And, Phyllis, I think he does have an eye problem actually. I heard him mention it in an interview.

Whatever it is, its not english, so the one two three fourteen thing wouldn't work anyway. It is annoying and stupid in english and in another language that doesn't translate the word play is just friggin' ridiculas. Seriously.

They can't break up. They're in the middle of their tour and Mr. OTW's gonna be pissed because he spent an arm and a leg for tickets for us to go see them in concert here this Spring.

About the Bono thing...he got his nickname from a hearing-aid store by the name of Bono Vox when he was pretty young. Dumb or not, it sounds more mysterious than Paul Hewson, doesn't it?

I don't think this is true. My friend says that they are not breaking up but are actually changing their format to be a hip-hop/urban band.
