Very sad news; my condolences to her family, sorority sisters, friends and colleagues at the student paper.
Excerpts from the Washington Post's site:
A George Washington University student was found dead in a campus dorm room this morning, and police are investigating.
The student, Laura Treanor, 19, was a junior . . . . Her roommates made the discovery this morning about 8:30 a.m. and called 911 . . . .
Sgt. Kenny Bryson, a D.C. police spokesman, said that authorities responded to the 600 block of 23rd Street NW this morning and that the department's natural death squad, not the violent crimes branch, which investigates homicides, is looking into the incident. . . .
According to the Web site for the student newspaper, the GW Hatchet, Treanor was a contributing editor for the Life section of the newspaper. The Hatchet also reported that Treanor was a member of Phi Sigma Sigma sorority.
