Of course! Laughing is actually really healthy, because it lowers stress, boosts immunity, and science says it even helps us live longer. My husband teases me so much and keeps me laughing nonstop, I’m practically immortal at this point. You can think of me as kinda like.. a multivitamin? — essential, effective, and best taken with a dose of humor, lol.

You’re welcome, Phrozen!

I do like Disney movies, but yes, you’re right, the movie selection is really bad. I like thrillers and horror movies.

Ya know, Dee, I didn’t even get to see it. My kids were fighting over “Mufasa: The Lion King” and “Sonic 3”. My oldest went to see Lion King with my hubby and my mom, because according to her “Sonic is for kids”…. Um, she’s 8? lol — while I got dragged to Sonic with my youngest.

Ugh.. welcome to parenting, CG.

I saw a review that said Mufasa was not good...blatant rehash of the animated version for $$$$$. Disney has been getting some backlash for churning out the live action re-dos as sure-fire money makers, but a couple of them have been really good.

In the photo of him sitting in court, his eyes were so cold he looked like he had no soul. Seriously.

I don’t think there would be anything better than having a significant other who makes you laugh. When I was with my ex, the one I made a mistake by letting her move in with me, she was rarely to never silly like I am. She started off that way, but it went south real quick. Must be nice.

I’m into true stories, or somewhat fictional movies based on real life events.

Anybody who does what he did has no soul. He definitely isn’t the first person to just outright do that to somebody in this country.

I took 6 years of Spanish in middle/high school. I'm rusty at it but I did get to practice when I was a landscaper. I can understand a fair but I get lost when someone finds out I can speak a bit and start going a million miles a minute.

That's the whole industry at this point. Because production costs and budgets have skyrocketed, studios only want to green light projects they are confident they can make a return on, especially a large one. That's why we seem to be trapped in a sea of remakes, sequels, and adaptations no one really asked for.

Sure you could argue that some movies would benefit from more modern filmmaking techniques like science fiction with how much CGI and green/blue screens have improved. A director or producer could say that this was their vision instead of being limited by the tools of the time. But remaking an action movie from the 80s with only somewhat better visual design and an unnecessarily changed story or performance from the actors gets real tired.

Yes. To me, I think relationships thrive on laughter, trust, and consistency, so next time, don’t settle for less than what makes you happy. The right person will appreciate your playful side. I think every past relationship teaches us something. I mean, they definitely tell us what we don’t want in a partner. I think the right person will match your energy and make even the harder times easier to face. Know what I mean?

Like, when my hubby and I were first dating, I didn’t know what really attracted me to him, other than my initial, physical attraction to him. I mean, I didn’t know if it was his reserved charm, his incredibly good looks, or the fact that he could make me laugh like no one else. But whatever it was, I was hooked. Although, I was drawn to his quiet, confident personality, I think his humor caught me completely off guard and made me fall even harder. So, I just can’t see a relationship thriving without humor.

At least you can pick up on some of it. I can’t even do that. I’ve had some Spanish in high school and some in college but I’ve forgotten all of it with the exception of a few words. Some of my clients are Spanish speaking only, so I have to use the translator on my phone to communicate with them. But some of what I’ve forgotten is coming back because of that. Very little, but still some.

Yeah I can have a basic conversation, but unfortunately the applications I needed it for were a bit too specific and technical. I was able to do it in a very simple way such as "Start in the backyard" or "Cut the grass with the small lawnmower".

In related news, my Christmas present from my wife arrived and she chose cash on delivery. Who does that anymore?/Is that even an option most places? I didn't have the cash on me at the time so the delivery guy agreed he would return between 2 and 4pm. I was wearing jeans so no looking at any legs for him

You know what I’ve noticed? Just my observation. You were attracted to a quiet, reserved dude, but you yourself seem to be loud as hell Lol. How’d that happen? I always see that a lot. Opposites attracting. I rarely see or know two quiet people together and the loud people that I’ve seen together or know don’t seem to work out. I’ve seen two quiet people work and couples with one person quite, while the other is loud. I can’t figure that chemistry out. When I say loud, I mean outgoing (talkative).

It’s funny how that works, right? I think opposites just complement each other. He keeps me grounded, and I keep things exciting. It’s a nice balance.

So, I read an article once that said opposites often attract because of “complementary traits”? Like, people are naturally drawn to qualities in others that balance out their own personality or provide something they subconsciously lack?

IMHO, I think it’s less about opposites attracting, though. I see it as more shared values over personality traits. So like, even if a couple is opposite in how they express themselves, like with your observation, one being outgoing, and the other not so much, they often still share deeper similarities — like core beliefs, goals, and priorities. I think that’s what really holds them together long-term. Know what I mean?

WIFLSRN: So, my daughter wanted to see Lion King today, since she was so adamant about seeing Sonic last night. The rest of my family didn’t mind seeing it again, lol.

How did I feel about the movie?

Me in the beginning of the movie:

Me in the beginning-middle of the movie: 🫤

Me past the middle of the movie: 😒

Me towards the end of the movie, until the end: 😴💤

No, the store she bought the gift from apparently has a COD option for purchasing things. Debit really isn't a thing here, so bank transfers and credit cards are the most popular ways to pay for things not using paper money. Transit cards can also be used in convenience stores and vending machines, and most people use an electronic version in their phone's wallet app.
