What's going on with everyone? How are your chapters/alumnae chapters doing? Does anyone have any exciting personal news?

Anticipating Founders Day next weekend, suddenly remembered I have to give an introduction speech......yes, KumjaPrincess I will get it done.

BUT, we will have a new AI on the board come this time tomorrow....

Helping get an AC (Pittsburgh) and a CC (Ottawa) started.

not much here in texas. trying to have a founder's day dinner next friday. heard from a sister that i haven't talked to in a while and she is helping out with UT-Tyler. she will be great! she's a former clc. gonna try to get to the chapter's intiation next saturday. can't wait until the next 2 weeks are over and my students go into finals land! this has been one busy semester.

btw...i LOVE the new Crescent and the e-newsletters from the Foundation and the Gamma Phi Buzz. great ways to keep in touch!

Its almost my BIRTHDAY !!

I get to go to my first initiation on the other side next week. And the same founders day that Smartblnde is working on her speech for.

When's your birthday? I don't think I realized (or just spaced in my old age) that our birthdays are near each other since mine's in about 2 weeks.

But you are also coming up on your anniversary of becoming an American citizen.....

My Birthday is 5 November LOL

That is how I remember yours. It;s so close to mine. Scary thought that I have been a citizen almost a year already.

I'm so thrilled that I can officially call you all sisters! My initiation was this past Friday evening and it was a wonderful, memorable, special evening that I will never forget. Becoming a Gamma Phi Beta as an AI is something I never thought would happen and I am so excited about the future and the opportunities for involvement with my alumnae chapter and as well as being the new campus/faculty advisor for the collegiate chapter here at Florida Tech...

My thanks to all the sisters on Greekchat who have been so kind and supportive to me over this past year!

Have a wonderful week! I'll have a smile firmly planted on my face for quite a while!

hey SmartBlondeGPhB-
that's great that you're starting a CC in Ottawa! A sister from the Toronto chapter just moved there last year. i'm sure she would love any info about it. Also, if you want to pass on any contact info for the Ottawa CC, you can email Grace Lin, Toronto CC chairperson ( or i can pass it on to her). Toronto will be having their founder's day next weekend and the CC members could pass the info on to sisters they know in the Ottawa area.
I wish there was a CC near me (Alberta), but there isn't.

I'm guessing Grace knows about it already. I know that she knows the IO that is helping get it started (it's actually a reorg of one that used to exist) since they attended McGill together. They had a tea a couple of week's ago and unofficially discussed it.

If your sister's info is current with IH, she should be on the list to get the invite for the first meeting (not set yet). But if you pm me your sister's info, I'll forward it on to the group leader.

You can always start one in Alberta.........It's not hard to do.

Congrats to everyone who was recently initiated or will be doing so soon.

As for what's going on out here, Delta Lambda is in the middle of their new member period and is doing well. They have a CLC visiting this week and will be starting the election process next week. The former officers are pretty burned out so they're excited. Founder's Day celebration with the Delta Lambda chapter and the Inland Empire Alumnae group is this Sunday at the Victoria country club in Riverside. I'm excited about that- lots of news has been coming from alums about marriages and new kids and stuff and I haven't seen them to properly congratulate them. The Delta Lambda chapter advisor is getting married next weekend and I finally secured a date (a really cute and fun national fraternity officer I work with at my job, yay!).

Things are going pretty well...

well congratulations! Founder's Day marks my 5 year anniversary as an AI.
