Wow...great review
If you have not yet made plans to be at your local record store on March 30th to pick up your copy of the freshman release, Little Things, of Lava Records artist Toby Lightman, you need to mark your calendar now. The album boasts an eclectic blend of everything that makes it a true member of its won breed. The smooth as jazz voice and ability to write like no other makes Toby Lightman a promising artist that is destined for high places. The album has been influenced by everything from jazz to pop, and the varying styles are a fresh approach to musical expression, and are pulled off well throughout the album. This album does everything but conform. Its uniqueness gives it a timeless charm, and the lyrical content is far beyond anything expected. If you enjoy music and want something fresh and new, this album is for you. Little Things will be available for purchase on March 30, 2004.

I downloaded some of her songs, and love love loved her music! I'm definitely going out Monday to buy the CD, hoping that Best Buy or Tower Records will have it. Definitely check her out...

I bought Toby's cd this weekend! Unfortunately, I haven't had a chance to listen to it. I loaded it onto my iPod today, though, so I can listen so it on my commute home! I did see in her thank yous she said my "UW buddies (Chi O)". I got all excited - like she was saying thank you to me personally!

So I finally listened to it this morning. It was great. I kept thinking it felt very familiar but unexpected - don't I sound like a real critic?

I didn't know Toby Lightman was a Chi O! They've been playing her on the radio here and mentioned that she was a UW graduate, but nothing about her Greek affiliation (not that I'd really expect them to).
From what I know about her, she seems like a really cool, classy girl and a great representative of Chi Omega and the UW.

Jill - You can crash anytme!!!!
Toby's album is all I listen to on my commute anymore!
She's playing here in NYC in August. I'm hoping to get a group from our alumnae chapter to go, but it's on a Sunday at 8 so that might not be the best.
