APO pronounced?

Has anyone run into anyone in the US who pronounces APO as if it were a word? I've seen this done in APO-Philippines and was just wondering if anyone had seen it in the US. Also, similarly has anyone run into pronounciation of Alpha Phi Omega with the Phi rhyming with Tree in the US outside of Puerto Rico?

At my campus, we referred to you guys as either "APOs" or "Alpha Phi (fy) Omegas".

There was an inside joke where some people were referred to as "Alpos" but it was amongst a group of friends in GSS and APO. I don't think that's what you're looking for, however.

"APOs" or "Alpha Phi (fy) Omegas" are fairly common, and I can see "Alpos" among friends, but it would have to be among friends...
