Plane Crash In Buffalo Kills 49

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29175640/

I didn't see this posted anywhere, but if it was, moderators are free to delete my thread.

This is getting extra coverage here in CT because one of the victims was Beverly Eckert, a CT resident and 9/11 widow.

I read about this yesterday. 49 were killed in the plane and one other person died in the house that the plane hit.

Her story is so sad. She was actually on her way to give out a scholarship in her husband's name. She was such a big advocate for the victims of 9/11, and she had just met with President Obama last week. At least she's with her husband now.

Amazingly, 2 people got out of the house alive.

What I don't understand is why it seems that once one plane crashes somewhere, all of a sudden almost every week thereafter, we hear about a series of plane crashes in other places.

So do you think that there are crashes we don't hear about?

I mean, this is selection bias at its finest, isn't it?

What part of the country do you live in where they don't report on plane crashes?

Are you trying to tell me that the news where you're from only reports the BAD things? Holy balls!

I can see where your going with this. It seems like nothing major happens for two or three years, then two or three planes go down in a span of 6 months, then nothing for another two or three years. High-profile Celebrity deaths work the same way.

The rule of 3 - bad things happen in 3s.

Also, sometimes delicious Popsicles come in 3s as well.

While I always hear that bad things come in 3s, I can't say that I've believed in it.

The number 3 is considered good luck in the Japanese culture.

Of course you'll never know - do things really happen in 3s, or are you just more hyper-aware after 2 things happen? Maybe things really happen in 2s, or 4s, but if you are looking for them to happen in 3s, guess what? They do.

Winning at life...I'd like to see a Dateline series on those broads (and in your case broads with broad backsides ).

Cold medicine makes me feel funny.
