DELTA SIGMA GAMMA RHO???????
HERE'S THE DEAL SORORS AND FRIENDS:
IT IS A RAINY DAY AND I WALK OUT OF THE DOOR AND FORGET MY UMBRELLA. I GET TO WORK AND GET INTO THE BUILDING WITHOUT ANY PROBLEMS SINCE THE RAIN SLACKED A LITTLE. A FEW HOURS INTO THE WORKDAY, I NEED TO GO TO MY CAR. BY THIS TIME IT IS RAINING HARD ENOUGH TO USE THAT UMBRELLA THAT I LEFT AT HOME SO I ASKED MY FRIEND TO BORROW HER UMBRELLA (SHE SO HAPPENS TO BE A LADY OF SIGMA GAMMA RHO). SHE GIVES ME HER UMBRELLA AND.......YOU GUESSED IT, IT WAS AN UMBRELLA WITH SIGMA GAMMA RHO ON IT. SO, DO I RUN IN THE RAIN AND RISK GETTING SOAKED? NO, I USE THE UMBRELLA. WE EXCHANGED A FEW "FRIENDLY COMMENTS" BUT I THOUGHT NOTHING MORE ABOUT IT UNTIL I RAN INTO ANOTHER COWORKER WHO IS A DELTA. I BELIEVE IF SHE COULD, SHE WOULD HAVE BARRED ME FROM MEMBERSHIP WITH THE LOOK AND SARCASTIC LAUGH SHE LET ME HAVE. I THINK SHE WAS REALLY PISSED
ANYWAY, MY QUESTION TO YOU SORORS AND FRIENDS, IS IT REALLY THAT SERIOUS????? A NEO, MAYBE! BUT A GROWN A@@ WOMAN, LOOKING DOWN ON ME BECAUSE I DIDN'T WANT TO GET SOAKED AND DECIDED TO USE AN UMBRELLA THAT DID NOT DISPLAY DELTA SIGMA THETA ON IT!!!! NOW I LOVE MY SORORITY AND I AM SECURE ABOUT MYSELF AS A DELTA. SO I THOUGHT NOTHING ELSE OF IT WHEN MY FRIEND (WHOM I HAVE KNOWN SINCE HIGH SCHOOL) GAVE ME HER UMBRELLA TO USE.
WHERE HAS THE LOVE GONE FOR OUR SISTERGREEKS????????? MAYBE IT'S ALL ON GC

I love DST, but you were at work and didn't want to get wet and you didn't have your own umbrella so you used what you got. I might have said something slick out my mouth but only in jest about you being under a SGR umbrella. Tell Soror to fall back and relax because it wasn't that serious.

Pretty much.
Also, Soror, typing in all caps implies that you are yelling and is considered to be bad internet etiquette.

I used to think it meant emphasis but I learned that's not what it means.

Thanks
Hope no one took it that way because I have no reason to yell at anyone here.

I really think it may depend on whom you ask and when you ask them as to whether or not it's a big deal.
Some time ago, several of us were leaving a chapter meeting (had a mini-meeting after the major meeting) and one of my Sorors had a huge blue and white umbrella. Of course, I ribbed her about the umbrella, but added that if it was raining particularly hard, I would have myself right up under that blue and white umbrella to keep from getting wet. Didn't care at the time.

It's not that serious. Tell her to find something better to get upset about.

Yeah like whether Deltas should walk on green grass or look at a blue sky.

Same sentiments here.
It's not as if you're less of a Delta because you used the common sense that God gave you to use any functioning umbrella to stay dry. I would have jokingly ribbed you for living out your blue and gold dreams by holding the umbrella , but you and I both know your heart is with Delta. Your soror should have known that, too.

No, soror, it is not that serious. It was raining and you didn't want to get wet. I can understand that. Don't pay attention to that ignorant stare that you got from the other soror. It doesn't mean a thing. We may be part of different sororities, but we are strong, black sisters before we ever became a part of a sorority. I think some of us may have forgotten that.

Ya'll have meetings after the meeting, too?
I was under one less than an hour ago. Ummm, our school colors are navy, gold and white. Our teacher appreciation gift last year was a B/W umbarella (lol) with the gold school mascot. I could care less the color as long as the umbrella protects me and my "do".

Sista Greek,
No it was not that serious. Like the others have stated, I might joke with a Soror if she had a crimson and cream umbrella, but that would be while I was under it also protecting my clothes and my hair. Some people are just silly like that.
