Recommendation Letter Help

I will be rushing this fall at my college, and right now I am trying to gather recommendation letters. I have been trying so hard and asking literally anyone and everyone. I have a few letters but have come up short for a few sororities. I am still continuing to go through all my resources but I am getting pretty desperate. I have spoken with two Panhellenic Associations near my town, and they were very helpful. Some of the woman I have been in contact with and they are willing to help me. Others I have not heard back from and it has been a couple of weeks. Where else can I find recommendation letters? I am really stressed about this.

Ask the women from whom you already have recommendations if they have any
friends who are in the groups that you still need. Panhellenic women know other panhellenic women.

Ask your parent's friends, ask the parents of your friends, ask your teachers.

Post on your faceboook page that you will be going through recruitment and would like help with recs.

Also, if your parents are on FB have them ask. I've done a few recs via a PNM's parents asking if anyone would be willing to one.

I already posted to my Facebook and had my parents and some other family members to share it, but unfortunately I have not gotten any responses. I have not thought to ask the women who already wrote me letters, so I will start there. Thank you!

Hesitant to comment on the sorority stuff. But here goes.

This is in addition to the great advice above and on this subject in other threads on this site.

Give your mom and dad a list of all the organizations where you will be a PNM. Put an asterisk next to the ones you do not have recommendations. Then get parents to ask around at work. Their supervisors and their spouses may have the contacts you need. Most of the good ones will be happy to help a child of one of their employees on something like this. And it is possible they may provide more help on this than one could ever expect.

Also, ask for help from your church or synagogue. Give the list to your pastor or rabbi and ask for their help - if they know anyone in the congregation that might be able to help you.. If necessary (and appropriate for your church), maybe ask to put a short notice in your church bulletin or prayer chain email that you need help with recommendations for sororities.

It really does work to ask your rec writers who else they know. For example, a PNM asked me to write a rec this summer, and she was able to secure 4 more through my connections (my daughter, sister and cousin, friend, and friend's daughter are all members of different sororities and enjoy writing recs).

Church was a great opportunity for recs.

^^^^ So true Sciencewoman and PhilTau. That is how my daughter was recently able to get 12 of her recs for UGA. She asked four mom's she knows from church and each of those moms had daughters, friends, and sisters who were all in different sororities. They also provided her worthwhile and valuable advice for recruitment and college in general...Dad's only know so much.
