Then I guess the Zetas would have a problems with U of Texas Longhorn fans, too. Funny my daughter, a UT grad alumna was constantly throwing up the Longhorn sign during the Bowl game and she is a Delta.

Yes, it unfortunate. It's kind of like the beef between some Zetas and Omega Pearls over the hand sign.

I consur with Senusret; there is really nothing you can do about it. Besides, it is not that serious; it is a rather trivial matter you are getting all worked up about. Let it go, partner.

RM: Certain things that may seem trivial to non-members are, in fact, SERIOUS MATTERS to members.

I hear ya SisterGreek. But really, what is a hand sign when you know you are the REAL deal?

That is true. I know that my initial reaction would have been similar to KAP's, especially if it were an organization of a certain persuasion that should "know better" (thus my inital question).

It peeves me when non-members act like we are overreacting to things that they know NOTHING about.

I definitely agree with your last sentence.

I have one question for you, Skee:

What the ________ are you high-and-mighty "members" are going to do about this matter besides b[el]ch, moan, whine, and complain? Sue them? Protest? Organize a boycott? Lobby Congress to trademark/copyright handsigns? What are you going to do?

*hears nothing from the peanut gallery*

That's right, Skee, NOTHING!

So by all accounts, you are overreacting, a typical result of folk who worship the organizations they are in.

ETA: To paraphrase your own words, Skee, It peeves me when members overreact to things that they know that can do NOTHING about.

RainmainJoe

What, so now, unless a direct action is taken, all OPINIONS are null and void? So unless you DO something, you can't THINK anything? Am I to understand this correctly?

Who, exactly, determines when and if someone is overreacting? As I understand it, this has nothing to do with you, so it would seem to me that YOU are the one overreacting. I mean, what are you going to do about the fact that people hold an opinion on this matter?

*crickets*

Just as I thought. Another ETERNAL WHATEVER overreacting (and implying that we worship anything OTHER than our Creator when we got folks on here worshipping GAME SHOW HOSTS), a typical response from someone suffers from a Walter Mitty complex. Do you sometimes daydream about being in a D9 org?

It peeves me when people keep stirring the same pot yet wondering why the soup is still cooking.

MY GOODNESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What is so wrong with some things being important to people that are NOT important to you???? I could give 1,908 flying rats behinds about a game show, a man with a perm, a mullet, WHATEVER, but that does NOT mean I'm going to say it's TRIVIAL to YOU. You like it? I LOVE it. Why can't you do the same? If I threw a FIT about somebody throwing up the pinky, WHY DO YOU CARE? Why?

Let it die. We love everything about our organization that you hate. Including the little insignificant hand signs and our piddly colors and simple mascots/symbols. You know what, all of it is stupid. I'm not even sure why anyone wasted their time coming up with MEANINGS behind such stupid, piddly, trivial things such as a hand sign or a color. My gosh. Who has that much time on their hands? Do you know how many game shows they could have watched while they were wasting time on this piddly fecal-type matter?

Your're a little bit late on that, Ideal; I said that 6(?) posts ago.
If she's late, then you're never arriving because per your own search...

Either way, if you have not been on that wall, then the answer to the question is none of your business!

GROW UP! DEAL WITH IT! MOVE ON... RAINBOY! That's right, I called you a boy, because a man would mind his own damn business.

Also, people do respect greeks. If they didn't respect greeks, there wouldn't be little busters like you riding the jocks of every frat in Greek Chat. I bet you go to the internet and the library everyday to find out how much more information you can learn about a FRAT that will never accept your little fairy __.

BUT ON A GOOD NOTE, THERE IS A KAPPA SWEETHEART LINE KOMING OUT IN THE SUMMER, I CAN PUT IN A GOOD WORD FOR YOU, OK?
Bobby Earl told you that years ago.................

Do you think the Asian greek site give two freaks (or three dime pieces) about whether or not the hand sign "belongs" to KAPsi? Are they expected to know that it "belongs" to them? If not, what is the point of getting bent out of shape? Or do you just waste energy on such matters just for the sake of doing so?
What would you have done if Bush threw up the pinky at his inaguration? Is Bush expected to know that the pinky sign is AKA property? What is the point of getting upset over something that the majority of America could care less about?
Bush and an Asian GLO aren't the same thing. He's one person. They are a group.

Any GLO that uses a hand sign has or should have a meaning behind it. I believe that this GLO might feel rather stupid if they knew they were using someone else's hand sign. Unless they're doing it on purpose - which is a whole other matter.

Another NPC has recently been using a "purpose" phrase very similar to my NPC's motto since 1901. Does this tick me off? Yes. Did I get steamed when I first saw it? Yes. Am I having daily fits about it? No. Am I mentioning when I see a member use it "hey, that's really similar to our motto, ya know"? Oh HECK yes. Because if they don't know, they should.

We're talking about an INITIAL reaction that a member had and wanted to share with his fellow members. It's not like he said he was going to go and shoot their puppies or something.
