Seeing as I'm from the mid-west...I think UW-Milwaukee, our Gamma Chapter, we have both Delta Nu and Delta Delta close, on that note Madison would be great too. UW-Green Bay would be nice also

For Ivy's. I'd start with Penn. We already have two chapters here in Philly, and there are a ton of alumnae, though unorganized, enough that could support a chapter. And we are very strong in the PA area. I vote Temple also.

Hawaii would be soooooo nice. UH Manoa (sp?) would be pretty cool. Somehow before that could ever happen, I think we'd need to be stronger on the west coast, too many cultural similarities not to have that connection.

The south would be pretty neat also. Is it even realistic though?

Ok, sorry my list wasn't as pretty, but yea...

What about the challenge that has been posed in other threads regarding tradition and legacies? We just don't have the legacy numbers in the south. I guess if we spend the next 20+ it could be plausible. I don't know, I'm just thinking here.

We have a chapter near Tampa, FL. I know that AST was looking at Embry Riddle in Daytona, but I guess it didn't go through. We would love to have another southern chapter in the area!!!

We haven't heard anything at all about it, so we thought that it's not going through. I could be wrong tho...

It's not on the list on the national website, either.

<Excuse me for crashing>

But, are you thinking about the AST colony at Embry-Riddle in Prescott, AZ? which by the way, from what I hear is doing fine.

I think Tri-sigma is colonizing at Embry-Riddle in Daytona.

AST was looking at Embry Riddle in Daytona, also. This past spring, some of the girls from my chapter went there to meet with some national staff...

I remember seeing a flyer for an AST interest group on campus last year, don't know what happened though.

For ANY NPC to colonize at UHM, you're going to need a large and VERY SUPPORTIVE alumnae base. According to the Panhellenic of Hawai`i website, I don't think AST has an organized group in the state. I'm sure there are AST alums living here, and if so, we at PoH would love to hear from them!

Hawaii or bust!

Don't worry everyone! I guess I can take the responsibility and move to Hawaii to start our "Ohana in AST" Alumnae group!
Anyone else want to come with me!?!

btw... I remember when my chapter was sending out an alumna newsletter we noticed a few alumnae that lived on Oahu and Kaui, and wondered if they would be willing to host a sisterhood retreat!

Elizabeth, I'll go to Hawaii with you!!

As far as colonizing in the south, I think if we stuck with smaller schools, we would do better. I would love for us to come back to some schools in AL.

Our headquarters is in Birmingham, so I think any school would do great.

There are tons of smaller schools in the south, that I think AST would fit in perfectly, but I guess we will see.

If we bring AST to small southern schools, alumnae recognition is not really a problem. My colony is in Memphis, and very few girls on campus are legacies of our NPC sororities (AST, AZD, ZTA).

True dedication, right?!

Anyway, back on topic... I would live to see expansion to:

1) Dallas/Fort Worth area (mainly b/c I am having withdrawals!)
2) Northwest region of the US
3) at least 1-2 other colleges in states where AST has only one active chapter

I would also really like to see some of our single letter or "bigger" school chapters reopened (such as Miami University in Oxford, OH; Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY; University of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, WI)

On the Hawaii thing,

I'm very proud to brag that Delta Nu, in just over five years has initiated a handful of very loud Hawiians. I know at least one will move back after college, but sadly most will stay on the mainland. Nevertheless, we need that alumnae group organized. I wanna move too and help out!

I love the idea of doing small schools in the south.

When was the last chapter we had to close? Am I allowed to ask that?
