My husband and I used to go all out for New Years Eve, but now that we're old married folks, we just celebrate alone at home. After we put the girls to bed, we make ourselves a special late supper (this year we're cooking lobsters, asparagus and baked potatoes plus my scallop/potato/corn chowder that is a yearly tradition) and then watch a movie or two on pay per view. Of course, we tune into Dick Clark's Rockin' Eve for a few minutes to watch the ball drop! It's just a nice, quiet time for us and we like it that way
Hey, has anyone ever gone to Times Square for New Years Eve? I did in 1989 and 1990. What a mob scene! But it was a blast!

On New Year's Eve...
I'll be at my boyfriend's house. We've invited a few of our mutual friends over for a bonfire and fireworks display. I'm so excited! Last year, I went out partying on New Year's Eve and Buckhead was an absolute madhouse. Too crowded to be enjoyable. I'm glad to NOT be doing that this year!

We're getting together with 4 other couples for a 'gourmet' potluck dinner. Each couple is bringing 2 dishes to share, the hosts supply some wine and we'll just chill and eat all night!

It is sad for us this year- we've had the tradition with (2) other couples of going to one house, having a beautiful dinner, watching the clock and sleeping over but the one couple is in the middle of a divorce now -
So- we are just staying home- which since I can't drink- I'm looking forward to a quiet evening at home with my honey!

We don't have any plans as of yet....but we're working to see if our couple friends (3 of them) are going to be in town for New Years. If so, hopefully we'll all get together for some kind of party!
Personally, I just can't sit at home with my husband on New Years! I do that every weekend.....so to me it would just be any other night. I NEED to go party! LOL!

My boyfriend is a part of an ECHL hockey organization, and they have a game that night....*sighs* So my New Year's celebration won't start until he gets finished around 10. I'm going to the game all dressed up and ready for action. Yeah, I might get a few funny looks, but hey! After the game, we're going to a bar b/c not only is it New Year's Eve...it's my best friend's 23rd birthday! I love New Years!!
I always wanted to go to Times Square, but I'm too scared to set foot in New York City. Stupid terrorists.

I'm going over to my big bro's girlfriends house with a few friends to chill and inagurate the new year after a terribly hectic (and somewhat terrible) semester. I'm bringing tequila, friends are bringing vodka, and we're all getting nice and sloshed. Card games, movies, maybe a little dancing, usual stuff.

Ahhh- I remember partying at Buckhead at New Years with my ex-fiance who lived in the area - it is crazy!
This year, since I am painfully single, I think Im going to have my best girl friend Jamie (who is also single) over for movies and food.
Please keep my brother and his wife in your thoughts - as well as everyone who will be in Times Square on New Years Eve - it will be crazy, but hopefully SAFE!

I will be spending time with my girlfriend watching the ball drop on tv. I don't need anything fancy, just spending that special time with her will make me more happy than any ole party.

My boyfriend and I are heading up to Whistler - some friends of ours are already up there so we will be joining them. We will most likely hang out at someone's cabin drinking and listening to music and enjoying a good party Whistler style.

I'm going to a friends house for a potluck dinner much like the one Penguin Trax explained. About 20 of us, lots of food, lots of drink, should be fun!
