Thoughts/Prayers, please
so apparently my parents got a letter a few days ago from my very first best friend's mom.....they waited until the day after Christmas to tell me about it. this is the girl that i basically lived at her house from kindergarten to 3rd grade....sleep-overs every wknd. i moved away in 4th grade, she moved away in 6th...and we've kept in decent touch, but ya know. but i still consider her a very good friend. the letter, however, informed my parents that her dad has an inoperable brain tumor with only a few months/wks left. he's going through his second experimental surgery...........i'm just so in shock about this whole thing. i remember him as just being a very funny and very nice dad. she was such a daddy's girl, too, i can't imagine how she's dealing with all of this.
so, if you can PLEASE just keep him and his whole family in your thoughts and prayers, that would mean a lot. he has a daughter who is 24, and a son who is 22. he's been married for over 30 years. this is a wonderful man with a wonderful family......and even though i haven't seen her in many years, it's very difficult.
thanks!

My aunt has gone through the same thing, with the tumors and cancer and such. She has 4 children and 11 grandchildren, and is only 60-some years old.
Unfortunate things happen to the best of people. I hope your friend's father gets better.

AlphaGamDiva, I hope you don't mind me doing this since you started this thread, but I'd like to add another prayer request on here.
My former neighbors, which consists of a guy i went to school with for a number of years, his sister and parents, got horrible news a few days ago. The mother was just diagnosed with from what i understand is a very advanced case of leukemia. from what i've been told, they aren't really sure if there is going to be anything they can do for her. Also, the dad just recently lost his job. Needless to say, this Christmas wasn't all that great for them.
I just wanted to ask all of you to pray for them too. Pray that things will get better, that the dad will quickly find a new job and that the mom will hopefully get well. And I hope this doesn't sound horrible of me, but if what I've been told is true, and she doesn't have much longer to live, then just pray that she is able to spend whatever days she has left in peace and that she'll be comfortable.

May we all think of the people who are in need.
What is the sad part is that some live so long and some live so short.
While we mourn, I only wish that We as Mortals could do something to help.
We can at least pray for those in need!
God Bless all!
