My Girl Scout troop
Since my daughter is attending a college with no Greek system, I've adopted my Girl Scout troop to report on!
Using Girl Scout-related code names, so far (still have a few results to find out):
Daisy pledged Kappa Delta at Texas Tech (she is a 3rd generation KD!)
Brownie pledged Alpha Chi Omega at Texas A&M
Cadette pledged Delta Zeta at Texas A&M (yay!)
Juliette pledged Alpha Delta Pi at McNeese State (last year)
Waiting to hear on a couple of others at A&M, and there are two with spring rush.
As much fun as it has been to read rush threads the past few years, it is tons more fun to personally know girls who are going through recruitment!

Do you know, of the twelve girls I had as my "Brownies" for two years, I had the following legacies:
ADPi: 2
Phi Mu:2
Phi Beta Gamma:1
AOPI: 1
And those are ones that I know of! (The other little ADPi legacy is a bona-fide legacy: grandmother, mother, 3 aunts!!!!)

I talk about sorority stuff A LOT around my daughter's troop.
At our Convention this year, we were introduced to a new program developed by our Alumnae Programming team called Rosebuds, designed to introduce girls in our lives to Alpha Gamma Delta values by engaging them in group activities including social events and community service. I can't wait to hear more details about this new program and can already think of numerous girls I'd like to get involved!

Hey! No fair, AGDee, getting a jump on the PNMs!
My troop produced an AOII, an AGD, and 2 Chi Os and I like to think my encouragement got several counselors at the Scout camp to rush...I just this minute got an email from the AGD (Ga Tech) who said hello from Windsor Castle, she's having a great time on tour with her husband!

FYI: Rosebuds=what Brownies were originally called (but according to the "Brownie Story" I was taught as a kid, the girls didn't like the name)

AGD's not the only one!
"In 1998, Kappa Delta began its national collaboration with the Girl Scouts of the USA in order to lend hearts and hands to young women everywhere. With this partnership, KD became the first and only NPC group to adopt Girl Scouts as a national philanthropy."
-Kappa Delta website
The Girl Scouts and all sororities have a lot in common. That is cool that you were their troop leader and introduced them to Greek Life, and now they are joining sororities!

Yay! A KD in the bunch! You do realize that the Girl Scouts is one of our major national philanthropies, right? Sounds like she ended up in the perfect house at Tech!
(ETA: ShaedyKD beat me to it! But yay--another KD in Texas!)
Lots of Texas girls, though! Congratulations to them all!

Girl A pledged Delta Delta Delta at South Carolina!
Girl B pledged Zeta Tau Alpha at UF!
Girl C pledged Kappa Alpha Theta at Texas A&M!
It is really wonderful to hear from the girls who have found their "homes".

Bronze (another troop member) pledged DELTA GAMMA at the University of Texas!
My sailing-crazy daughter just loves the symbols of Delta Gamma!
And I think Kappa Delta was brilliant to adopt Girl Scouts as a national philanthropy - I know many Girl Scouts who became interested in KD because of that. Similar kudos to Gamma Phi Beta's association with Campfire USA.
