As a guy it is always interesting to know what women prefer in those oh so intimate moments. ( This is why smart guys read cosmo when ya aren't looking!) Size of equipment is generally a hot topic of discussion and answers usually run the gamut from, and I'll quote some people I know on this one,

"size doesn't matter'
"size does matter"
"size doesn't matter if I know he loves me"
"ya, i guess size matters but I'll trade that in for a good tounge lashing"
"nothing matters if he's rich!"

to the ever popular...

"as long as I don't laugh when i see it it's fine."

So...

Fess up ladies, what is ideal for you? Is there any general "preferred" size or what? Fact is, most guys would fall into the "average" category and they would like to know if its honestly good enough. This is the type of stuff GUYS talk about, even though no guy will ever admit to being only "average" but, that's our nature I guess.

ok...

"Average" is definitely wonderful.

Teeny as in the "laugh when I see it" is bad. I want to know I am having sex, to be blunt about it.

On the large end-- "girth is good" Length can be painful.

So give me average to average with some added girth any day!

Actually average is between 4.5 and 5.5 or so I have read . . .

But if either number is true why is that every guy has a 8-11 inch monster hiding in his shorts? there must be an awful lot of 1-2 inchers to make the averages come out right

Again, girth, not length is more important.

definitely average is fine with me. I dated a 6"4" guy one time and I thought-oh I bet he is hung well. Ok I almost laughed when I saw it, needless to say I could not get that out of my mind and I ended the relationship. I am not a shallow person but sex is part of a relationship. Just like some guys can't date girls with small breasts I prefer not to date guys with less than average equipment.

Ya know, the "largest" guy I have dated was also the shortest? There is a such thing as TOO big though, which I learned with this guy. And since he was my first, I didn't like sex too much until I started dating my current guy

Average is just fine. Too big = pain, and pain is not arousing. I don't want to look at a guy and be scared of it. :-P

Myth #2: Penis size doesn't matter

Perhaps assuming that the fragile male ego can't handle the truth, diminutive television personality Dr. Ruth Westheimer and others of her ilk have popularized the notion that size doesn't matter. Truth is, it does--but not in the way that you think.

Basically, if an erect penis measures about 5 inches from base to tip (give yourself the benefit of the doubt and take the measure from the underside), it's considered average. And this is one case where average is very good indeed. "There are many women who express a preference for an average-size penis," says Irwin Goldstein, M.D., professor of urology at Boston University School of Medicine. Another thing: Women vary in size, too. Some have longer vaginas, some shorter. So if you pride yourself on your exceptional length but the woman in your life is shorter than average, you might be missing her sexual mark.

That raises two questions: How do you tel if you're a perfect fit? And what can you do if you're not? Think back on the last couple of times you made love and try to remember if you felt the tip of your penis bump into something at the maximum thrust point. If it did, then you probably hit her cervix (or the diaphragm covering her cervix) and you're long enough to hit the hot spots. If you hit it so hard she complained, you're probably a little on the long side. That takes some adjusting. In this situation, "The missionary position works best because that's where you tend to get the least depth of penetration," says Barbara Keesling, Ph.D., a practicing sex therapist in Santa Ana, California, and author of the new book How to Make Love All Night. You might also want to try woman-on-top positions where the woman is facing you: They can minimize length while maximizing upper-wall stimulation.

On the other hand, if you have never felt some type of resistance when thrusting, you may be a little on the short side compared to her anatomy. No problem. If you're using the missionary position, have her elevate her legs and bring them toward her chest. This shortens the vaginal canal. "If you're kneeling in front other," advises Keesling, "try to get your pelvis as close to hers as possible." This position maximizes your length.
