Here Comes Honey Boo Boo

Who watched it? What did you think?

I thought it was pretty scary but kind of sweet at the same time. I can't believe that mom is only 32. That means she started having babies when she was 15 and the dad was 23. Uh oh. She's going to be a grandma at 32 too.

They eat too many Cheetos. Maybe that's why mom weighs 300 pounds. Her chin is real unfortunate.

They have too many paper goods.

I'd be scared to have all those kids and critters and live so close to the tracks. It was like the train was running through their house!

They seem to love each other and have fun together though. So over all I liked it and will watch again.

I used to live very close to where they do, and there's been a lot of talk about the filming in and around that area that I've followed on facebook. I watched more to see the local sites and prayed that it didn't make the area look too bad.

Train Wreck... which could be even more of a reality as close to the tracks as they live.

OMG I taped it and just watched it today. WOW. The little girl is kind of cute, but that Momma... just wow. And not the good kind of wow.

I see nothing cute about the way Alana behaves. It is quite annoying. I do not talk about children's looks but I also think her appearance looks strange with the makeup and so forth.

The show is dramatized stupidity. The whole "redneck-ognize" slogan is culturally and socioeconomically biased even if the self-proclaimed "redneck family" approves of this depiction. Alana and her family will have a difficult time living this down. Alana will be teased and ridiculed now and when she gets older.

And what in THE hell?!

TLC got a 3-for-1 when they signed this family for the show:
- pageants
- extreme couponing and food auction participants (i knew about warehouse foods but never the auctions. learn something new every day)
- teen mom

I like a good train wreck as well as the next person, but these people are just plain gross. I have to change the channel when the commercial comes on.

Ugh, watched the show. Hated myself for not turning it off. Hard to look away and I giggled, but disturbing at the same time. Saw the seventeen year old pregnant sister having her ultrasound. Mama said that she had a couple of children in her teens too. Will history repeat itself with all of her daughters?

Not to sound like a snob...

But if you can afford to spend thousands on those kiddie pageants, then you shouldn't be going to an auction for food and basically living like white trash. I watched like 5 seconds this afternoon and had to turn it off. The mom couldn't even speak properly without subtitles on the screen. WTF!

My husband (firefighter) and I watched for a few minutes. He said a house like theirs is the next worst thing, besides a hoarders house. Granted their clutter was organized clutter, it would still impede rescue in an emergency, not to mention the pure fuel all of that couponed paper goods are.

Those daughters are seriously sad. One (Pumpkin, I think) is 12 and closing in on 200 pounds? Seriously? The 17 year old pregnant one (Anna) seems to be in serious denial about her pregnancy and the impending birth of her daughter (poor little thing) and the whole forklift foot made me gag.
