Temple of Elemental Evil...

Has anyone seen the new D&D game coming out for PC, Temple of Elementral Evil? I have done a good deal of reading on the game, and as far as I am concerned, It looks pretty nice. I wanted to know if anyone had actually played, or seen it played, at a convention or something. I hear it has unbelievable game-play graphics(lots of detail, etc.), not to mention it is turn-based(hell yeah!) but I have just gotten the explanations for the 3.5 D&D rule set, and I am trying to figure out a few things in time for the release. I would love info if anyone has it!! Cannot wait for the game!

Sorry for the delay... went on vacation. I know that it is set on the 3.5 edition d&d rules, with turn based combat. I love that, keeps my hands off the pause button. The rpg factor should be great, lots of great features from what I hear. We should run into some creative characters, and really elaborate gameplay graphics once it comes out. I was hoping to get some feedback from some greekchatters on this. Anyone know about it? How's it look? I am really looking forward to playing this one. I want to know more.

I have heard it is supposed to be a pretty cool... kind of a NWN with more developed D&D characteristics.. I am looking forward to hearing more about it.

Better than NWN...

It is going to be a great deal better than NWN. The character development is much more developed than NWN, and the 3.5 rule format is VERY close to the original pen/paper D&D games. That is what I like the best, that the rule structure is so on target. I hate these games that claim to be D&D and end up being nothing like it. This will be right on target. Also, the turn-based combat keeps it very tactical. I am excited.

Obviously b/c no one except LSUquadKid is responding here, not any people care, but I just found out that Troika (creator of ToEE) is having developer Tim Cain on for a chat in the gamespy arcade at 4pm PST on Friday. Might give some good info... I am gonna check it out to see whats up I think.

I got to the chat late, but he said it was going to be Super challenging.. He said the developers still haven't beaten the game in the IRONMAN mode of play. I guess it is the hardest one. They also said it was the closest to D&D rules so far, so I predict it will be good.

NWN was okay

NWN was okay, but I wish it was a little more D&D based. I am a pretty big fan of D&D, so I felt is was a little off the mark. I am hoping this one is going to be better. I have heard it is supposed to be, so I look forward to release. I just heard it went gold, and I think it is coming out later this month.. I have a lot to look forward to w/ the Two Towers extended edition and the Temple of elemental evil game.

pre-order?

I heard that if you pre-order the game it will come earlier... Is this legit? Does anyone know if game companies can do this? I also hrd it might come out b4 release date that was scheduled for the 23rd.. There are so many rumors, this game MUST be great...

Anyone played it???

Has anyone been able to dig into this one? It is a step up from the BG, NWN games, a few bugs, but it was released early. I think it will really pan out as I begin to figure stuff out.

This thread has been dead for awhile, but....

Does anyone know when a patch will be coming out for some of the bugs in this? It is great, but will be so much better once these bugs get worked out. Just wondering?????

Oh Yeah...

The Troika patch should be out later this month. There is another one going around from Circle 8, but I don't think I trust it...

I heard about C8

I don't think I want that one, I will wait for the troika issued patch... I cannot wait to get it though, I love the game, I just want to get further along w/out any problems. It really is a beautiful game. I cannot believe how far along the graphics have come since I was younger... Remember saving the princess in Zelda 1 for regular Nintendo? Great!
