info on Theta Chi

Greetings, I'm seeking info about the Theta Chi fraternity. I will be a Junior at Appalachian State this fall, and I'm considering rushing a few fraternities. I would like to know what life is like as a Theta Chi brother, and I also would like to know about the standards upheld in the fraternity as well. It would also be nice if I could find out what initiation in this fraternity is like as well. I would appreciate it if someone could answer my questions so I would know for sure. Thanks and God bless!

Chris

" I would like to know what life is like as a Theta Chi brother"

No one knows better than the members of that chapter, and rush is a period when you can ask questions. You can also ask questions of the Dean of Students staff - they may even have a "fratenrity advisor/supervisor", and maybe look in a campus annual or newspaper for coverage.

"the standards upheld in the fraternity?"

see above. Go by the house during the summer, if you can, or early on a Sun. morning after school starts, and see how the place looks when they aren't trying to "snow" you and "be cool"

"what initiation in this fraternity is like?"

Ask questions. Ask how many were pledged last year, and how many quit before initiation. Look in the scrapbook for hints of hazing.

Joining a fraternity - even as a junior - is great, and can add much to your short college years.

Definetly check out that chapter. Hopefully your campous is friendly to jr rushees. We believe in extending the helping hand. We also believe that education is why you're at school, and your brothers should support you in academic endevors that will better your future. This is summed up in our maxim "alma mater first, and theta chi for alma mater." Also, you can check our international website for our 22 objectives and our creed. Both give good examples of what we believe in.

I'm in Phi Mu sorority, and we love us some Theta Chi. They're (for the most part) gentlemen, fun to be with, and very trustworthy.

Hey Chris...I'm at AppState also...and actually I date a Theta Chi. They are a bunch of cool guys who are very open to juniors rushing. Do exactly what the others have said...ask lots of questions...the guys will answer them truthfully. Come out to rush...Theta Chi's rush is always fun and I think it starts the week after school does. Stop by the info. table the first week of school to get more information about OX and all the fraternities at ASU. Good luck and if you have any more questions, PM me. Good Luck!!!

The Theta Chi's on my campus are the best group of guys i know. We were with them for Greek Week and all i have to say is i have never met more gentlemen in my life. they are also the "house boys" for my sorority, and are a blast to hang out with.
