For reals?
Alumni Initiation
Doing AI
http://doingai.110mb.com/
Introduction
Alumnae Initiation (AI) is the process in which a woman becomes and alumnae member of a sorority. Alumnae member means just that - they join alumnae associations and participate in their sorority that way, but are not part of the active college greek life. They are women who did not join a sorority during college (for whatever reason), or perhaps never even went to college at all. Whatever the reason for AI, there are many phenominal women out there who never joined a social sorority, but who would like to dedicate a part of themselves to working towards the principles and values held within the NPC Sororities......
What is AI?
Alumnae Initiation (AI) is the process of joining a Greek lettered organization outside of the college rush system. These may be people who have already graduated, never went to college, are ineligible for membership, or who have family or friends within a Greek organization already. Those pursuing AI are typically called Potential New Alumnae Members (PNAM). While AI can occur in many forms, this site focuses specifically on NPC Sorority AI.....
Why Are You Doing AI?
If your goal is to hang out with 18-year-old girls and go to parties, Alumnae Initiation (AI) is not for you. If you just want the ability to wear Greek letters and have no concerns about being active within the group, AI is not for you. There are hundreds of reasons to do AI, but re-living your college days or trying to fulfill some void with a superficial membership should not be part of those reasons. Often times women AI a sorority that they de-pledged during college. This is perfectly fine in many cases, however, be aware that other options may be available to you as well. See who the local alumnae women are, go meet them, learn about their sisterhood's values and philanthropies, and find a fit that you are really happy with so that you will want to be an active alumnae member for years to come!...
NPC Sororities
Here you will find a list of all 26 NPC Sororities, and their national websites. This is a good resource to help you view all of the NPC Sororities out there, however, we are not expressing or implying that any of these organizations will do Alumnae Initiation, or that by contacting them you will be able to go through their AI process. Policies can change every day, so we are not confirming or denying who may or may not allow you to become an Potential New Alumnae Member (PNAM). We have NO control over their requirements or policies - so be prepared for any organization to reject you on the matter! However, having said that, there are lots of sororities who may welcome you with open arms, it's all up to you to explore.

"What is Shopping"
A term that you may hear a lot during your Alumnae Initiation (AI) quest is "shopping." This is essentially a perception by anti-AI people that believe it is wrong to look into several sororities before choosing which one to attempt to join. This seems like a harsh term, as many people who go through AI don't have Greek connections and/or relatives to help them choose a specific sorority, and therefore need to look closely into several groups to find the best fit for themselves.....

LOL, the ASA link is bad.
Also, they might want to stop saying "nationals" every 2.5 words as that term gets a lot of people's backs up.

It would have been nice as well if the first sentence didn't have a grammatical mistake:
Alumnae Initiation (AI) is the process in which a woman becomes and alumnae member of a sorority
And he/she uses alumnae when it should be alumna in some places.
Should have done more research and perhaps a Latin class as well.....

Some of the things on the site are just plain bad advice. Such as contacting HQ even if it has been established that a sorority doesn't do AI. I mean, if a sorority just doesn't do it, I doubt their HQ is even going to know what you're talking about.
And LOL @ the paranoid type statements such as "many people have a negative view of AI." WTF? If you poll 100 random sorority alumnae, 95 of them aren't even going to know what you're talking about to even HAVE an opinion.

I'll agree with that! We talked about this at one of our alum meetings and 1 out of 20 alums (that 1 being me!) at our meeting had ever heard of the process and AOII is welcoming of the AI process.

Also, let the records show that I am present for this relatively dramatic thread. Not at internship.

QFP and surprised it hasn't been done yet!
There was a major article in the latest Adelphean about AI, a whopping five women were initiated last year, all with seriously stellar experience.
