Hand sign?

One of my chapter sisters said she met an Alpha Gam from somewhere else in the country that showed her some incredibly complicated hand sign...I think it's supposed to resemble the badge, but do we really have one or is that something someone made up? And how do you do it? lol it looked like hand twister.

It definitely isn't anything official.

Perhaps its a chapter-specific tradition?

I think it's just done for the fun of it. Sometimes my chapter will do a Gamma when taking pictures. Having 3 letters can be complicated.

One of my friends from the chapter at North Georgia showed me a handsign that they do. I know I have a picture somewhere; I'll try to dig it up. It's really complicated and resmebles the badge.

Yea it's supposed to to resemble the badge & Alpha Gam doesn't have an official hand sign.
The sign ends up looking kind of like this:
^
/ = \
--- ---
The sides / \ & top ^ are the 2 index fingers meeting together at the top.
The = is the 2 middle fingers overlapping each other.
The --- --- is the 2 thumbs meeting together at the fingertips.

My chapter learned that hand sign off one of the AGD Facebook group's pictures, haha. We used it in Alpha Phi Alpha's non-NPHC stroll-off, haha. I think it's something that a lot of chapters know about but it's not really "official" per se.
