Dear Eta Alpha Chapter (Furman University) of Kappa Kappa Gamma Alumni,
In support of our Chapter and to recognize the tenth anniversary of our installation at Furman University, we, the Advisory Board of HA Chapter, are organizing an Alumni-sponsored tail gate to take place during the 2003 Homecoming festivities at Furman.
As some of you may know, this Chapter has had a recent decline in numbers over the past couple of years, due simply to the cyclical nature of greek organizations on campus. Throughout this year's Formal Recruitment and National's Spring Recruitment effort, we have now raised our numbers back into the 50s. (For those of you who graduated near me--2000--you will recall that formerly our numbers were around 100.) This year's NM class of 13 is the largest in two years, and as the Chapter's Membership Advisor, I can tell you that the women are so thrilled. We are all working hard to continue this "up-swing." However, due to the small numbers some social functions have been eliminated from their calendar, one of which is the Homecoming tailgate.
Homecoming is a critical time to showcase KKG to Potential New Members (PNMs or "rushees" to those of you who have been out of school longer). Therefore, we are organizing this event in an effort to show the women of Eta Alpha that their sisters support them and love them and to show them that KKG isn't just about college but continues for many years after!
But, we need your help! We will likely ask for a small donation from alums who would like to participate. More information will follow soon. For now, please email Katie Gamble ('00)
katieg@jdpr.com with your current contact information and the email addresses of any HA KKG alum you keep in contact with. The more the merrier!
Let's celebrate 10 Years of KKG at FU!
Love and Loyally,
Katie Gamble
