At my school we had a bed race, wacky olympics, a dance contest (down frat row), a kick ball tourney, tye dying t-shirts for charity, and a picnic with band. Hope this helps!

Most of the things already mentioned on this thread are things I was going to add... but I do have a few other ideas I've heard of at other campuses as well as things that we do at my campus for Greek Week. I've heard of blood drives, Greek Olympics (or sports tournaments in general), talent shows, eating contests (I heard once of a hot wings eating contest), or, my personal favorites, holding a carnival to raise money for charities where each house has a different activity like a dunk tank, pie throw, etc., or a Greek Sing event is always fun. Just some ideas.

The big thing during Greek Week here is a lip synch. We do so much trash talking prior to, it makes it fun as hell!! We got straight up HOSED by the judges during the last one a few months ago... so now we are looking for pay back!!

Cool

We have obviously a week full of events.
First our week starts off with Phi sig kap's greek goddess pageant. Then we have greek sing where all the greeks sing and dance to songs where they make up the words to fit their chapter and greek life/week. Last year we had a bon fire, and a guest speaker.
One night we have volleyball and then another is dodgeball. We used to have swimming. and then we end with a day of greek olympics, like tug of war, pyramid races dizzy bat race, ect...

Thumbs up

Our Greek Week goes a little something like this: the general format is that there was one event sponsored by a house at about 4:30 in the afternoon, and then another event sponsored by a different house starting somewhere around 7:30-8:00. This started on a monday and ended on a friday. I tried to remember the schedule as best as I could, but it WAS a year ago

Day 1 - Opening ceremonies (each pledge class showcases a banner they make, being judged)
- Tricycle Races

Day 2 - not quite sure
- Baseketball (watch the movie for rules)

Day 3 - ummm.....???
- Dream Girl (Miss America type paegent involving a representative from each sorority's pledge class)
Day 4 - Date Auction (each sorority offers up some pledges for people to bid on to go on a date...the money is for charity)
- Dance Contest (each house picks a song, and the pledge class makes up their own dance to this song, performing in front of everyone who shows up)

Day 5 - Bed Races
- Lip Synch Contest

Then, on saturday (day 6), the Univeristy sponsored a huge concert outdoors which last year featured Shaggy, Moe, and Agent Porridge. All of these events are open for greek pledges to participate in, and for the rest of the student body to spectate. Personally, this was one of the best times I have had in my entire life!

Talking

We had a theme for every day of Greek Week. Monday was the Step Show (Alpha Phi Alpha helped our girls look awesome for it!) and Greek Sing where each frat/sorority participated for points. Greek Sing was where each chapter stood as a group and sang a serious song (most sororities sang whatever they used in their Preference ceremony during Rush). We also announced candidates for Greek God and Goddess at this time and had each candidate answer a question given by an independant judge (kind of like the Q & A session for beauty pageant contestants.)

Tuesday was Track and Field with relay races, sprints, long jumps, discus throws, etc. There were points for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each event.

Wednesday was Fun and Games with things like balloon tosses, tug of war, chariot races, three-legged races and sack races.

Thursday was Water Games with swimming competitions and the canoe race.

Friday was the volleyball tournament, and afterwards the scores were tallied and the trophy given out to the winning frat and sorority. We also gave out individual prizes for Greek God/Goddess, the Most Spirited award, and the Step Show award.

Usually, the winning frat and sorority would have a Greek Week Champions social within a few days.

Hope this helps!

Carrie
