Amazing for us, but I'm a little nervous...

We have 30 girls signed up for recruitment. THIRTY. There are 14 of us. I love websites, GC, campus wide emails, and student org fairs. I'm very very excited, but I'm also very nervous. I'm shamelessly asking for encouragement, rush tips, etc etc etc.

That's really cool Crystal.

We took a pretty large class one semester. There were about 20 actives in the house and 30 new members. Just remember you don't have to give EVERY girl a bid. Quality... not quantity. It may be a little overwhelming since your PNMs will outnumber you two to one. But girls can sign up for info but not show up to the events... it happens all the time. I remember that same semester that we took 30, over 60 girls had signed up at the booth. Not all 60 showed up.

But ask your alumnae to come back during the week. That way if you do have a large number of PNMs, the alum can cover ground.

But don't stress! Just have lots of food.

Congrats!!! I know there were large classes in my chapter too. Often some sisters had to have TWO littles at the same time!!!! I also agree though, quality, not quantity.

I just found out from our recruitment chair that she had called 50 girls to remind them about recruitment events. The other chair had called an additional 20 last weekend. The girls that had messages left called the chair back and said they were coming and bringing a friend. And it was a good portion of girls that called back.

Usually when we have over 60 girls sign up for rush, about 1/2 show up. I don't think we have ever had THIS many girls say 'Yes I am definitely coming around next week!" But then again, they still have a week to decide.

We've got around 50 girls now... I'm sure we'll be okay. But WOW!
And our shirts are so freakin' cute.

Well, you know girls. They like to do things in groups. They will probably herd toward a friend once they get there. See if you can have 1 girl go up to 2 and start talking.

Another idea is to do a group activity. That way when everyone is interacting all at once, it doesn't seem like they outnumber you.

I know you guys are worried about how much your chapter can handle, but if most of those girls are just totally super, see if you can give them bids. Obviously it's quality over quantity, but make sure you don't cut a quality girl because she's not the Top 10. You might not ever get her back.

Wel, we had exactly half show up all week, we've bidded 12 and they all accepted! I was relieved - that's a comfortable number. Thirty, or even 20 would have been rough financially. (2 littles for everyone? ouch.) We've nearly doubled our chapter. We're at 26 now, where a year ago we were at 5. We have 4 leaving this December due to graduation and transferring, so we'll be starting recruitment next semester with 22 (if no one drops.) My little that had to depledge last year came back this semester, so yay!
