Post Cool reference site

www.snopes.com is the Urban Legend Reference site. It gives a listing of current email legends circulating plus a listing of all the standard stories we hear. They do research on them to find if any are true.

Snopes is often "quasi-reputable," so take that with some suspicion.

For political stuff I prefer www.factcheck.org and along with snopes I liked urbanlegend.com but it seems to have changed to http://urbanlegends.about.com/ and it seems more cutesy than helpful.

I try my best not to forward or share anything that isn't either opinion or something I'm pretty confident is accurate (which isn't too often). The one exception there is the article that says 6% of Syrian refugees want to come to the US. So you can simmadonna about Syrians taking over and destroying our pristine awesomeness. Because of the amount and the sources (Washington Post being one) I am assuming it's accurate without double checking. They want to come here as their last resort, or possibly if they already have family here. Otherwise, no, there are no razorblades in your Halloween candy or AIDS in the ball pit at McDonalds.

Well aware. Just trolling the site and tilling it up a bit. Fifteen years is plenty enough time for a new crop of "less informed" to come to fruition. Truthfully, some of the dumbest people I have ever met, were encountered in a higher learning institution.
