Memorial Headquarters and Executive Office Dedication
Here's information I received about the New HQ dedication. I urge anyone who can to come see the new building and renovated house. It's so exciting! I'll be there on Sunday as a tour guide and It'd be GREAT to see some of our Greekchat sisters!
"On Sunday, September 25th, Grand Council and the Foundation Trustees
will host the "grand opening" and dedication of the newly renovated ADPi
Memorial Headquarters and Executive Office at 1386 Ponce de Leon Ave NE.
This is a very special day for all sisters to "Come home to Alpha Delta Pi".
If you haven't toured the new office building or had the pleasure of seeing
the house since its renovation, this is a perfect time to come and see it. "

Me, me, that would be ME! I don't know how in the world I got on the invitation list for this, but I received a beautifully ingraved invitation, and I'm going! (It sounds like they are having to keep it down to a certain number, because I had to send back an RSVP. I'm imagine it's because of the size of the place.) So, Hunny, I'll see you there! You'll just have to let me know how to know who you are! I have been to headquarters, but it was years ago, so I'll love seeing what they have done. OK, so...anyone else going to be there?

Sisters,
I just had a meeting with my Alum association yesterday and everyone IS invited to the HQ dedication. They sent out invitations but we've found that most sisters did not receive one. I'm not sure what list they used but if you were considering coming and did not receive an invitation to RSVP to, PLEASE come anyway. It'd be wonderful to see as many sisters as possible in attendance.
Just an FYI

The advisor and president of the chapter I advise received one, but I remember the advisor mentioning something about only ten people from each chapter could attend?!? Not like I am going (do not have money for a plane ticket)-- but I wonder where she read that!! I did not receive one at all and I am on the local alumnae board and an advisor!!

True. The RSVP card states "Chapter limit 10 attendees per chapter."

I think the deal now is that for the VIP dinner thing on Sat. there are only certain people invited BUT for the Sunday, anyone can come. I'm not sure if they aren't getting as much response as they would have liked but that's the deal.
ALSO, there were a HUGE number of sisters who did not receive an invitation...as I said before, I think there may have been an internal glitch of some kind.
I'm really excited!!

I'm guessing they sent invitations to people who have contributed to the Capital Campaign (donation of money for the new building).

See, that's what we thought but I'm not sure that's the way it went either...
Oh well...I just hope that everyone who wants to attend is aware of the event!

The Executive Office Dedication was held yesterday and was well attended! A ribbon cutting ceremony was held with MaryAnn Gillespie, Chloe Kinight Tonney and Kathryn Goddard speaking. Helen Glenn who was the past Executive Director when we move d to 1386 Ponce De Leon Ave was asked to cut the blue and white ribbon. Tours were conducted by local alumnae and refreshments were held in the Memorial Gardens- there will be pictures in a future Adelphean but if anyone gets down to Atlanta, please make sure to visit!
Also Phi Mu held the dedication of their new Memorial HQ in Peachtree City, GA on Saturday and our Grand Council attended their event and then some of the Phi Mu "Council" attended ours!

I was lucky enough to attend the dedication - and have pictures to share, but am having trouble figuring out how to paste them into my message on this board...they're currently saved on a cd.
Can someone help??

YAY! Sorry I haven't been on to talk about it...I've been SO busy at work.
The dediation was awesome, as you'll be able to see from the pictures Christy will post. It was really touching the generations of sisters in one place celebrating. It was also very interesting to be a tour guide...I feel like I learned a lot about our History! It made me feel so amazing to be a part of something so vast and definately renewed my interest in getting even more involved!
Sorry if I was rambling - It just really touched me...

Memorial Headquarters Dedication
Here are just some of the pictures from the Memorial Headquarters portion of our building. I gave some of the rooms a name myself - I was unsure if they had real names or not. I believe some of them are still available for dedication.
I'll post another message with some pictures of the Executive Office portion of the building.
