Happy Founder's Day!!! I'm celebrating by sending Theta Love vibes (and texts) to my chapter because it's their bid day today!

Happy Founder's day sisters! I think our alumni group will celebrate later in the spring.

Bumping a little early....

Anyone else have Founders Day plans this year?

I will be joining our alumnae chapter for our annual celebration. This is my favorite event of the year, not only for the meaning behind it, but also because it is an event that brings out alumnae of all ages. We have attendees who are fresh out of school and then we also have 75 year Thetas. It is so interesting to see so many different ages, chapters, and backgrounds all mingling together through our shared bonds in Theta!

This year we were asked to bring memorabilia from our time as an active. I dug out my chapter's bid day picture as well as my Theta charm bracelet. I also have some more vintage Theta items (courtesy of that auction site) that I may take along and share even though they weren't orginally mine.

Happy Founders Day to us! Yay for 140 years!

"...and we realized somehow that we weren't going to college just for ourselves, but for all the girls who would follow after us - if we could just win out." ~ Bettie Locke Hamilton

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when Bettie, Alice, Bettie and Hannah showed up to chapel that morning with their Theta badges in their hair! Women's fraternities would no longer have to be secret.

Thank you Bettie Locke Hamilton for being the visionary behind this beautiful organization that binds us together.

How is everyone celebrating?

Happy Founders Day sisters!

Blondie---that is one of my very favorite quotes and it reminds me just how fortunate we are that women who came before us paved the way, giving us the educational opportunities we have today.

Bump!

141 years ago, Bettie Locke initiated herself, then three other founders, at Indiana Asbury (now DePauw) University; and here we are today.

I'm wearing my badge and crest ring, and Saturday will be the Tucson Alumnae Club Founders' Day celebration with the Beta Delta/University of Arizona Chapter. Anyone else have Founders' Day plans?
