ALPHA GAMMA DELTA ALUMNA IN JAPAN ENTERS CHAPTER GRAND
(INDIANAPOLIS) Alpha Gamma Delta is saddened to announce that alumna Taylor Anderson, Theta Zeta-Randolph-Macon College, entered Chapter Grand as the result of the catastrophic events in Japan. A 24-year-old native of Virginia, Taylor was in Japan on a three-year teaching assignment.
Those close to Taylor say she was sincere, kind-hearted and full of shining energy. She enjoyed Japanese culture, sarcastic humor and being around people that she loved.
“Taylor believed in equality and making the world a better place,” said Liz Andrews, Theta Zeta Chapter alumna and a dear friend of Taylor’s. “She was involved in many advocacy groups and clubs on the Randolph-Macon campus. The world will definitely be a darker place without her.”
Taylor’s Alpha Gamma Delta sisters believe that Taylor truly lived up to the values of the Alpha Gamma Delta Purpose. “[Taylor] cultivated acquaintances all over the world and cherished friendships with more than just a few, which is evident by the outpouring of support for her family from friends and strangers alike," said Suzie Zeh, Theta Zeta Chapter alumna and friend of Taylor’s. “Taylor had more experiences in two-and-a-half short years in the [Japan teaching program] than many of us will have in an entire lifetime. If nothing else, I can find some comfort in knowing that Taylor passed away in a country she loved while working with a culture that she had always been fascinated by.”
If you would like to send a card expressing condolences to Taylor’s family, you may mail it to Alpha Gamma Delta International Headquarters at 8701 Founders Road, Indianapolis, IN, 46268. Please designate them to the family of Taylor Anderson. Alpha Gamma Delta International Headquarters will collect these cards and mail them to Taylor’s family. In addition, Theta Zeta Chapter has invited all members to remember Taylor by wearing their Alpha Gamma Delta Badge on Thursday, March 31.
The memorial wishes of the family are unknown at this time. Should you wish to make an Alpha Gam gift in Taylor’s memory, you are invited to visit
