What is the double standard you agree with?

Curious, what are the double standards that you agree with?

That when the U.S. invades a country, it's okay. When anyone else does it, it's war crimes.

I cannot think of one off the top of my head but will think about it to see if I can come up with one.

I see. But in your example, aren't we talking about different countries? So all things aren't equal.

I reviewed the definition of "double standard" before proceeding. For reference, here's one from the American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language, 5th edition. Not cherry-picking; simply copied and pasted from the first hit on a search engine.

noun
1)A set of principles permitting greater opportunity or liberty to one than to another, especially the granting of greater sexual freedom to men than to women.
2) A standard or set of principles governing conduct, which is applied more stringently or differently to one group of people than to another; -- used especially of standards of sexual behavior that condemn behavior on the part of women that is condoned or not condemned when exhibited by men.
3) The situation of two or more groups, one of whom is tacitly excused from following a standard generally regarded as applying to all groups.

FSUZeta is correct. The example provided does not fit the definition of a "double standard" according to the dictionary definitions. I'm struggling to make the third definition work for the example. Maybe? maybe not. I can't see that there's a standard involved in the situations.

Anyway, that's my $.02

I don’t know how I missed this thread. I’ll have to think about this one.
