Hurricane Harvey impacting recruitment

I've received word that Texas State has cancelled day one of recruitment due to the hurricane. Any other schools impacted?

For NPC recruitment, there are no schools around here (New Orleans) that I know of that will be affected. Loyola's recruitment is in September, and Tulane has deferred recruitment.

LSU is not in New Orleans, of course, but they won't be affected either - their recruitment was last week.

In any case, we're not directly in the hurricane's path, so we'll probably just get a whole lot of rain. Of course, the last time we got a whole lot of rain (~3 weeks ago) the pumps failed and the city flooded...

Texas A&M moved the Pref parties on Friday earlier in the day to avoid bad weather, nothing big.

They probably need to, for their safety. It looks like the heaviest bands are going right over College Station and not moving. But how difficult for PNMs.

Texas State is going to do all of Recruitment over the Labor Day weekend now. They are waiting for their new schedules. Our chapter was installed there right before finals.

The last I knew was that Texas State chapters held at least some of their recruitment events at a local hotel. I can't imagine the nightmare of trying to reschedule the use of conference/ballrooms for a holiday weekend.

Yes, all of recruitment was to be at the hotel - they used to do pref at the houses, but transportation (houses are spread out) was a logistical nightmare. I don't know what they will do if they cannot get the hotel.

Texas A&M Cancelled/Postponed Bid Day yesterday. The university is closed through Wednesday.

Texas State will combine 4 days of recruitment scheduled for this upcoming weekend in to 3 with all events still at the Embassy Suites.
http://pc.dos.txstate.edu/how-to-join.html#Dates of Recruitment http://www.txstate.edu/ Classes resume tomorrow. No flooding as of yet in San Marcos (which ususally floods)

University of Houston is experiencing flooding - several chapters have water. http://www.uh.edu/ The university is closed through Wednesday.

*eep*

Hoping that everyone at the affected schools is, and stays, safe. Recruitment can be modified or postponed, but lives cannot be replaced.
