I began to think about my chapter and what we contributed to this effort. The irony of this situation is that many non-black organizations raised/donated more $$$ than some black organizations that have fewer members. Am I being overly critical of my brothers and sisters or should we all be doing more.

I think your question is a good one. I also agree with Positively AKA. Most of those organizations have the resources that many of ours do not; however, I think we could do a better job. Many times when asking this kind of question we forget that all colleges are not the same; nor are they similar. A large university within a sympathetic community has a better chance to raise more money than one located out in the boondocks with a small African-American population(despite efforts to appeal to a diverse group of people in their fund-raising efforts). Naturally the later will have to work harder to raise a reasonable amount to contribute to the UNCF.
