Question Pins

Hello, I was curious to see where other frats/sororities order their initiation, merit, and new member pins from. I've seen some societies that make their own out of pearls, beads, etc and some straight from the national organization and have no idea where the pins come from.

What companies, if you do use companies, do you order your pins from? And if you don't order your pins how do you all make yours?

HJgreek.com makes a lot of the national pins. They still have to be ordered through our HQs though.

AGDs used to get their items from Burr, Patterson, and Auld before they were bought by Herff-Jones. The BurrPatt table was usually my first stop at Convention so that I could get my Badge fixed.

Badges and pledge pins need to be ordered for by the chapter. Same goes for the various alum awards of distinction.

I think they are a local.

I could just image in 100 years from now, a original Pi Rho seed bead badge going for a few hundred on ebay...

I was under the impression that they're a local.

However, her question didn't seem like it was directed to just locals.

I wanted the OP to know that even though I'm in an international organization, I know where my goods come from.

Actually, Herff Jones is the only one now as they have purchased Burr, Patterson, and Auld.

Over the years many purchases have taken place and it seems the quality has lessened.

Having a local jeweler make one will be very expensive.

No matter where you order you Badge/Pin from whether it be your HQ or direct, it will be the same place.

Go to herffjones.com.

The Legacy is listed under Burr Patterson Auld.

They seem to be cutting down selections of gems and color of gold.

Our Gamma Phi Beta badges are ordered through hjgreek.com (which has already been listed by others).

Gamma Sigma Sigma (and a few other organizations) use www.awardconcepts.net .

Hope that helps!

Back to the thread....I know in my chapter, our badges came from hj greek. We were given a badge and if we wanted another one we had to order it from that website. We didn't have to go through the chapter or anything...

In APO we order our pledge and service pins from our National Office. Few, if any, chapters could order enough from a local jeweler that could met the cost.

For our Badge, we order from our Official Jeweler, which is now Herff-Jones.
