Question Might be a stupid question...

In order to pursue an AI, do you have to have both a collegiate and alumnae chapter in your area?

I just learned about this today....with ADPi, you do not have to have a collegiate or alumnae chapter in the area. If there is no chapter around, three alumni in the area may recommend a woman for AI. I know that ADPiUCF started a thread about AI on the ADPi board....

From what I've been reading on here, it depends on the group. I think we might have some women thinking about it in Florida, and we don't have any collegiate chapters there.

Hmmm...your question is sort of hard to answer.

With Delta Gamma, you are alumnae initiated at the nearest collegiate chapter. If you don't have one near you, I guess you would need to endure the long drive (or plane ride) or you could be initiated at Convention, I would imagine.

Then, you can be involved with your alumnae chapter in your town, even if the collegians at not that close by.

I would say that for AI's, their sorority experience is the most rewarding if they have, AT LEAST, an alumnae chapter and then perhaps a collegiate chapter as well....

One of the groups I was pursuing in my area had a strong Alumnae Chapter but no longer had a collegiate chapter. If I were to be initiated it would have been a long drive or a plane trip

Hmm, looks like my guesses on the guessing thread will be way off then!! I was just looking for groups that both collegiate and alumnae chapters in the PNAM's area! Darn, I thought I was so clever.
