Who'd you pref with?

My chapter isn't cool enough to hang out with sororities (partly sarcasm), so we just had a huge beach party.

So whod you guys pref with?

Oh, I meant in terms of you bring a member of a fraternity and preffing with a certain sorority, like Sigma CHi here preffed with Alpha Phi.

I don't get it. Pref is a rush term, and you can't have boys at rush.

I'm lost. Maybe the term is only used at your school? What other meaning is "pref" (not sorority recruitment term)?

lol ok i guess i dont know then. I alway ssee banners that say "DG is gonna have a good pref with SAE" and such. I was always told it was a party at the end of rush week with one sorority and one fraternity and no one else is allowed to go.

Due to numbers amongst other things, we've never gotten to have this type of event. That's why i don't know. I'm going on what other greeks at SDSU have told me. My friend in ZBT said they had pref with AChiO on friday.

Last night, we just "preffed" with Delt Sigs at our school. It was so much fun - we love the chapter at our school and we're always there. Us being D Phi E. Number, snumbers, they're awesome guys and you know what - sometimes, sororities can be too picky when it comes to who they hang out with. Some sororities think that numbers and a good house matters. Personally, as long as I'm not bored, I consider it a good house.

Pref is a rush term though and for the record, I suicided D Phi E.

I don't think we "pref" with a certain fraternity. We have socials and mixers with just about every fraternity on our campus. We have girls that hang out with all different fraternities. My personal preference is Kappa Sig.

Here we call those mixers. You pick a fraternity and ONLY members of the fraternity and members of the sorority are allowed into the party. No boyfriends or brothers or roommates or any of that.

We kind of hang out with everyone equally, which is I guess what you get with such a small greek system.

On second thought that's not true. We have two fraternities running underground (Teke and Theta Delta Chi) who we can't hang out with at all, as per nationals and the alumna here. They got kicked off within the last year for a couple small offenses. There's also a fraternitiy that's down to three guys -- I actually couldn't tell you the name of their organization. Possibly Phi Kappa Lambda?

Anyway. With only four sororities and five fraternities, it's hard to be picky.

Oh we have Mixers (Well, WE don't but SDSU Greeks Do). Pref is usually the event on Friday, at the end of IFC rush week.

at the end of IFC Rush, we do whats Called "STEPS", one fraternity picks a sorority to help welcome the new guys that sign their bids. we all meet up at the stadium, the guys announce where their going & if it's the fraternity that we're going it with, the girls run up and grab the guy and drag him back to his new brothers. then we usually go hang out with them that night but nothing fancy... is that similar?
