Legacy Tea

My alumnae chapter is holding a "Legacy Tea" on April 17th. We are inviting Zeta alumnae in the area and their daughters or granddaughters. We, of course, will have a Zeta theme with strawberries & crowns. Have any of your alumnae or collegiate chapters ever had such an event? If you have, ideas & suggestions will be appreciated. The legacies will range from infants through high school. We just figured it is never too early to start rushing for Zeta. Thanks.

That is such a cool idea! As a legacy, I KNOW my mom would have taken me to that while I was in high school. I'm not so sure about if I were any younger - but definetly my senior year in high school. My only adivice is - don't rush. Just show them around. Good luck and keep us updated.

The Dallas Association holds a Legacy Tea at a member's home every year. They invite the Dallas Night members to bring their daughters, too, so my daughter and I have been for the past 6 years. Meg is only 7 but she enjoys dressing up for it.

One of the things that they do that I really like is to have everyone bring a children's book to be donated to a local hospital or Reading is Fundamental program. Meg helps me choose a book to take with us.

They also take a picture of all the legacies and send it in to one of the local papers. The food is simple but elegant so even the littlest ones can enjoy. The chocolate-covered strawberries are always a big hit.
