I know it's innocent until proven guilty, but if this 'man' did this...then may he rot in hell!

This has been a big story in Kansas City since Ali was found murdered. (i think there are some other threads about it on GC)
The guy who murdered her did confess. He was attracted to her, she didn't show interest and he snapped....
Here is a link to the local news story with part of the confession video.

I am glad that they caught this person, and he can now be punished for his horrible crime!

Appleby was found guilty by a jury and sentenced to 52 years in prison.

He plead guilty to a crime of passion which was BS!

Evidence proved that he repeatedly struck her in the face and then strangled her with her t-shirt.

They will appeal, and if they do, I hope the SOB gets more time not that a death penality would not work.

Do you mean that he plead guilty to manslaughter by reason of acting in the heat of passion (in other words, no premeditation or deliberation)? There is no actual "crime of passion."

Appeals don't work that way -- you don't get more time on appeal, just a ruling as to whether the trial was fair and free of prejudicial error (or in this case, whether the guilty plea was properly entered and accepted) and whether the sentence was within proper parameters and based on proper findings.
