DATED FUNCTION IDEAS??
Hey everybody.
I am planning a dated function for my sorority for the fall. We have had a hayride for the past few years but I'm looking for new creative ideas. We wanted to go to an amusement park, but that may not be possible. Please help. Thanks!

My school doesn't tend to have date parties as big as trips to the amusement park, but here are some ideas I've seen a bunch of chapters do here:
*Rock n' Bowl (bowling is surprisingly fun)
*Hawaiian themed
*Famous couples (can be done in a park or nice setting)
*Rent out a movie theater or a restaurant
*If you're near a body of water, take a cruise (we're 3.5 hours from NYC, but we just took a bus there and cruised around the Hudson for four hours for formals).
Have fun!

My sorority doesn't have dated functions like that, but we have what we call a Crush Party.
There are a couple ways you can do it:
-You can do it like a My Tie (your friend get a tie from the guy you want to ask or she thinks you like and then you both find out when you get there)
-We usually rent out a bar/club for the night and we all go on a bus with our dates. We get dressed up (shirt and tie for guys) and party all night.
-or-
go to the zoo, a couple of us went today and it was fun.
I'm not really sure what you are looking for. We have socials on the weekend 2or 3 to a weekend. So we don't have many date parties. There just isn't time. We have crush party and formal that's it

We've had a couple fantastic date functions the past year or so. My personal favorite was our most recent one, called "Destination Unknown"..our soc. chair got lists of guys that our sisters would like to go out with, and she set up each one with one of their guys. All we were told was to show up at a certain time and a certain place, where we would board busses. So, we had no idea where we were going or who we were going with- and it was a blast!!! Plus, our social chair made it a "mission impossible" theme, so we would recieve "mission challenges" so we could get to know our dates better- it was a GREAT event.

Try a graphitti social where you write on each others t shirts. Another is laser tag.

I actually meant ideas for mixers and not dated functions. My mistake.
