HBCUs & APO - odd.

One of the odder effects of HBCUs treating Alpha Phi Omega like the NPHC groups is the expectation that "Alpha Phi Omega will return to our campus eventually, so lets keep listing them as a student group". Some schools list all fraternities that have been on their campus ever with the expectation that they'll be back eventually.

My HWI had several NIC fraternities that were nuked for Hazing over the years. that no one expects to ever come back. Why? Because since there are 49(about) NIC fraternities and the campus can only support 14-16 fraternities, and just because a fraternity *used* to be there, is no reason that it should be the one with the chance to return.

OTOH, I know of of at least two HBCUs that list Alpha Phi Omega in their list of student group even though we haven't been active there for over a decade. (Barber Scotia College(NC) & Benedict College (SC))

I know that at JCSU we are under the Office of Student Affairs where as all greek lettered organizations are. Personally, myself along with a Delta Phi adviser feels as though the Asst. Dean of Student Affairs is bias towards us when it comes to APO functions and events. Last year I had to fight in order to get us to be represented in a stepshow which did not occur due to having to wait so long for a response.
