Old thread, but it has to be an agreement between the house owner and the university. The owner can't allow in any group without the university's consent, and the university can't force the owner to accept anyone. However, the owner probably would like to receive rent instead of the house just sitting empty, so I would assume they'd let in anyone that can pay the dues. It is true, 3 houses (Sigep, ATO, and Lambda Chi) now sit empty so I don't really know where the Greek Life Director really thinks Greek Life at Carolina is going. They were suppose to begin construction on some houses across the street from the original Greek Village. They need fraternities and sororities to fill those houses. All the sororities currently reside in houses, and the fraternities that had the money and bodies to fill a house (DTD was looking into getting a house in Phase II of the GV), are also in houses (Of course, not ATO, Sigep, and Lambda Chi). Pike may look to snatch a house since they lost theirs to Phi Mu.
