Tri Delta Reaches Goal of $15 Million for St. Jude Hospital
Tri Deltas across the country hope another step has been made to find a cure for pediatric cancers. Over three years ago a national campaign was begun with the slogan "15 in 5". The goal was to raise $15 million dollars to build a new wing for St. Jude Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Five years was the time frame to reach the goal.
Today it was announced all $15 million was raised in 3 1/2 years! Collegiates, friends and alumnae flipped pancakes, ran races and organized events all across the U.S. and Canada.
Earlier Delta Delta Delta earned funds to provide a teen room, name the children's care floor and now build a new wing for the famous hospital.
At least two physicians on the staff are Tri Deltas and others intern there.
Tri Deltas visit the hospital, volunteer and assist in some teen services.
Danny Thomas has two daughters. Both are Greek.
