Kansas State U Greek Adviser Resigns

Barb Robel, the director of Greek Affairs at Kansas State U, is resigning to pursue other options. She'll continue woking through the end of the year. The K-State Collegian reported the story, referencing some past controversies, in their March 11 issue:

Just wondering if any K-State Greeks have reactions? Opinions? Info?
BTW in the same issue the Collegian reported that the K-State IFC had just won the top award of the Mid-American Greek Conference for the fourth year in a row:

And Barb Robel is a leader in the Mid-America Conference.

From what I've heard the KSU Greek system is great. They'll find someone else. It could be that the advisor thinks they can make more $$ in the private sector. They're probably right.

Barb is Fabulous! She's probably just moving on...we sometimes do that as Greek Advisors. We move up, we move on, we do consulting. Just like in any other job.

Barb Robel has been the Greek Advisor there forever! She is a legend in the field, where so few people stick with it for more than 3-5 years. I agree, Barb is probably just moving on. The State of Kansas is in really bad shape budget-wise, and they may have offered incentives to persons who take early retirement. (Illinois is thinking about doing this) Regardless, I am sure Barb will continue to contribute in some way to the field. But I am sure she will be sorely missed!

Barb is what we call in the Greek Advising world as a "lifer" which like BSUPhiSig stated....is almost anyone over 5 years...but seriously she's been at it a while.

Actually BSUPhiSig I think the KState greek advisor(s) are actually not even university employees (if I remember correctly) they are actually employed and paid for by the greek community and not affiliated with the university...correct me if I'm wrong anyone.

One of my friends actually works there also, and as I understand it, Barb has slowly been tranistioning out of the "greek advisor role" for a while now, and I wish her all the luck!
