Bill O'Riley
Did anyone listen to the Russ Parr show this morning. The People Poll was regarding Bill O'Riley and a rapper. I did not get most of the message.

I heard it. Apparently O'Reilly's made critical comments about some rapper who has apparently lyrically claimed that Bush knocked down the towers--as in the World Trade Center towers. Parr's discussion focused on how O'Reilly routinely goes after these types of incidients (this one) and Ludicrus/Pepsi, as another example, to boost himself with his audience.
The listeners' comeback ranged from those who buy into conspiracies and think Bush may have been involved, to those who wondered why white rappers, such as Eminem, seem to escape such vitriolic (and financial) repercussion?

I want to say Jadakiss was the rapper, but I'm not 100 percent sure.

It probably was Jadakiss. He has a song named "Why".
A line from the song says:
Quote:
Why would ni**as push pounds and powder? Why did Bush knock down the towers? Why you around them cowards?

Also, here is a story on it from the Washington Post.

O'Riley
Did anyone see his interview with Mike Moorer? It was interesting to see how O'Riley tried to portray Moorer and Kerry as bad/anti-american.
I must admit that I agree with Moorer's position on Iraq. Instead of beefing up our presence in Iraq, Kerry should: (1)bring us outta there immediately, (2) with an apology to the Iraqi people, to the world, and to the survivors of the soldiers who lost their lives there, and (3) submit a proposal to have the Iraqi people petition the UN to help organize it--instead of the US trying to repair things there.
I also liked how Mike reminded us that polititians belong to us. That they have to do our will.

Re: O'Riley
True - politictians typically vote based upon the views and ideals of the constituents that elect them. This is why the black vote is not important to some elected officials - we don't vote in numbers to make a difference

I've heard him talk about rappers numerous times:
"I can rhyme "bitch" and "hoe" quite as easily as they can"
"I'm really serious that this music has messed up our society"
I guess he never listened to Pac......
I used to like Bill, but if he's so ignorant about something he probably never listens to, then he's just as bad as the people he bases on his show.
