Young and Dumb
What are some of the things you did when you were young that were really irresponsible and dumb?
When I was in college, if I was drunk, especially at a party, I’d do things that people told me I did the next day after a hangover that I couldn’t believe I had done.
One time, I remember waking up to a coffee maker in my dorm room. My roommate told me the hotel where I kicked it with friends the night before, I took the hotel’s coffee maker. I get drunk now, I stay at home Lol.

The "D" in Alpha Delta Pi stands for Discretion.

My first year at CCS in Detroit, one of our assignments was to design and build a grandfather clock for the future. We were instructed to build the model half-scale. I was always trying to design and build my products in a way that would leave a lasting impression, so I built my model of my design full-scale. It was 8-feet tall, and because I used a giant sized PVC pipe to attach the face of the clock to, the base wasn’t strong enough to hold it up, so I made the base out of a heavy metal that took me days to bend and beat into the cool shape I wanted by hand. It still wouldn’t stay together, so I poured hydraulic anchoring cement into the PVC pipe to make it sturdy and to hold it together, but then it was too heavy to carry into the classroom for review. So, I had to buy a dolly to make that happen. That thing probably weighed 200 pounds. 😂 However, it looked cool when it was done.
The second and actually the dumbest thing I ever did regularly was when I got hired out of CCS before I finished and came back to graduate, the pay was so good, instead of buying a house, I kept my one bedroom apartment I was living in while in school. I instead bought a really nice car that I heavily modded. I had NOS under the seats so I could go street racing at night with a bunch of other car guys. I could have either been killed at those speeds or caught and sent to jail. Talk about stupid.
This kind of behavior. Real stupid.

I’m still all about having a nice car, and lightly modding it, but I’d never street race again.

I can’t relate to the first part of your post, but I’d be surprised if you didn’t participate in the second part, PB Lol.

Yeah, I was beyond stupid back then. I felt like I was on top of the world. It was me, myself, and I back then, and of course my one bedroom apartment and my sweet ride. Talk about young priorities. 😂

The Amtrak station was directly in front of my college dorm. There were more than a few times my drunk ass ended up halfway across the country. Thank god I had friends & family all along the Cardinal line.

Gross and dumb — When I was in high school, sometimes when I’d go to the movies with my friend, I’d put Dots (the candy) in my mouth, then throw them at the movie screen so they’d stick.

We did, but not until like after 10-15 Dots were stuck to the screen. I’d eat most of them before I’d start throwing them, and then like the last 10-20 Dots that I put in my mouth, I’d put them back in the box until they got sticky, then I’d throw them at the screen.

We got kicked out, so I wouldn’t have known. I mean, that was 25 years ago? I was like 14/15 max? I wasn’t even driving, yet. My guess would be yes? — they watched the rest of the movie with Dots stuck to the screen. I mean, unless the staff turned the lights on, stopped the movie, and cleaned off the screen, but I highly doubt that. Like the thread says, I was very young and very dumb, lol.

Dumbest thing I did was that in 1992, a nerdy but well-connected kid in my macroeconomics class in high school said that a new-ish company called Microsoft was a good buy and everyone should invest, and I … didn’t.
(Stock price then? $1.65. Stock price now? $408.29.)
