Morals in Conflict

What would you do if your morals were in conflict with sorority ideas? Someone I know found a paper from another sorority on our campus and told me about what it had said. This sorority was hazing on new members. At homecoming the girls in the sorority wanted the new members to have sex with someone on that night. Throughout the quarter the girls wanted the newbies to make sure that someone would be willing to have sex with them on a weekly basis. I think this is kind of sick, but after you have made such bonds with people how can you just leave the sorority. What would you do or what have you done if your morals have been in conflict with sorority/fraternity ideas?

DZTurtle06,

Who are you?

You only come on here to instigate scenarios that insinuate hazing, improper actions at recruitment, that Greek life is too demanding to balance school and non-Greek friends, etc.

The legitimate posters on this board might ask these questions or post stories here and again, but for the most part, while we do acknowledge that there are imperfect people and a learning curve for members and officers... we talk about the fun aspects of membership, ways to help one another, chit chat about inconsequential and non-Greek details of our lives and more.

However, it's not all fun and games . We do address the problems and discuss Greek life issues in the news and how to prevent them, but your posts and wording just don't add up.

You just don't seem to have honest intentions and I question the legitimacy of your posts.

ETA: So... are you a spurned would-be member, recent drop out, investigative reporter or just have way too much free time on your hands? Because I know Delta Zeta teaches its members that one of the first responsibilities of wearing your letters is acting in a manner that befits those letters.

I usually am one of the ones who advocates going easy on new GC posters who write seemingly obnxious messages, but even I have to say you're not presenting yourself like a Greek or even a prospective member.

What kind of answers do you expect from questions like these??

"Like Oh MY GOD. My sorority totally made me sleep with a different guy every night but since they were like my sisters and all It was sooooooo coooooool. Anyway part of our dues helped pay for our bills to get rid of all the chlamydia and stuff we'd get. It was such GREAT bonding experiences!!! I LOVE MY XYZS!!!"

Seriously, now that i'm done being a b*tch. That's hazing, it's not cool, so you get the hell out of that organization

and maybe send some pictures to hoosier (not making an attempt to bring the other thread back to life, it's just my sense of humor)
