Numbers...
I was wondering if anyone knows a ballpark
ratio of female brothers to male brothers.

Try contacting the national office yourself or through your section chair.

You asked a pretty straightforward question....I didn't mean to sound harsh. I meant it to be like "Don't be afraid to contact the national office on your own."
ETA: You also didn't say please, but what's the point in splitting hairs?

Unless they've changed, I don't believe that the applications for active status request gender, so having hard and fast numbers may be impossible to get.

Somewhat complicated.
First of all, in terms of the total number of brothers in the History of the Fraternity that are women and men, men still hold a significant advantage. While were are about 350,000(?) active brothers today, about 150,000 were initiated prior to women being full brothers.
For currently in chapters, the last I heard (abt 5 years ago), the gender ratio in pledgees, initates and active brothers in any given year was pretty much equal, but the ratio tilted *slightly* toward women as you progressed through the process (a woman who pledged was *slightly* more likely to initiate and a woman who initiated was *slightly* more likely to stay active).
However I would have remembered if any of these ratios were more than 53-47 either way and that probably varies fairly significantly by year.
The National Office is the only one who would have the info since the membership applications get sent there and within the National Office, my suggestion is Judy Mitchell since she deals with membership.

OK, then the person who told me was estimating themselves...
I know it isn't on the Honorary/Advisor application that is online.

Yea I don't think the national office keeps track of such things anyways, I don't think on new member pledge forms it has a checklist or anything, I don't know I could be wrong
