Hey - 'Ello' Future British exchange student

I am exchanging to the US for Uni from the UK next year and just wanted to see what this greek life is all about. Mainly by learning from the people themselves. probably will end up lurking, but as they say. Something learnt is something gained.

Welcome, Matt! I attended the University of Bristol for my postgrad studies. The UK is a lovely place. Feel free to ask us questions and I'm sure the gentlemen here can help you out.

Just out of a quick thought off the top of my head. Is it possible to join a Fraternity on an exchange? Also, would i remain a member after my departing from the University?

The general answer is yes. If you are initiated into a social fraternity, you would become an alumni member after returning home.

Rules may vary slightly from fraternity to fraternity but, generally, if a man joins and does not go through initiation, he is not recognized as a member after leaving college.
